This house is a historical treasure set back on the most gorgeous temple trail and hiking path in Japan, on a scenic river and Shinto Shrine complex, and sharing a wall with part of Tofukuji Temple, the #2 temple in Kyoto after Gold Pavilion, and a quick walk to Gion, Kyoto Station, Nishiki and other sites.
The entire residence is very spacious. There are 2 entrances. You can park your bike or motorcycle outside (or use one of our 4 bikes for guests,) or you may park your car 1 minute walk up from the house, in the lot at the entrance to Fushimi Inari trail. There is a gym you can use on the outside walk with free-weights and bench. (It grows and adds equipment over time.) There is a cool courtyard bar inside in the wooden walkway with excellent "facilities" for drinking with your friends or relaxing together.

Other things to note
The Fushimi Inari Trail is 2 minutes from the house, just behind. You can't miss it - Just step outside and follow the tourists!
A real and well maintained Shinto Shrine and walkway is across from the house, 1 second away. Be sure to walk down to the beautiful waterfall and relax, following the shrines steps down, lit at night by candles.
You will have 4 bicycles, very sturdy and well-made and fun, to use to explore the city, free!
You can use them with the keys that lock the wheel. It is very easy and self-explanatory to start and ride them, and they can get you to the nearest subway Tofukuji in 5 minutes, Kyoto station in 10 minutes, or Gion in 10 minutes.
We have a beautiful recommended bike ride we can advise that will be one of the best things you do in Japan, like stepping back in time.
The Nintendo World HQ is directly across the river a short walk from the house too, for those gamers or nostalgic fans among you who would like to pay a visit!

Please enjoy your stay here and relax. Respect your neighbors, help yourself to the house and what is in the fridge, and the wifi, and take very very good care of this antique house, please! Its history is something to be cherished and cared for.
Please do not damage or stain any of the property, and feel free to have gatherings, but no large parties beyond your guest group.
There are no pets and no smoking allowed, at all period, please.
Please do not play too loud music, and keep things clean and in the condition you found them.
There are not really cramped neighbors on either side of the house that you have to worry about, as there is a lot of space on the property, but just employ common sense and if in doubt, just ask us! :) We are very chill.
PLEASE be very SURE to follow the directions we give to you in the PDF in English. :) We will need your email please if you can be so kind as to reply :) ---- The guide we is EXCELLENT and very full of great day tours from the house and of Kyoto!, and contains precise and great directions for getting to the house on arrival and letting yourself in :) You do not need us to let you in the house so you can relax about having to call around and wait. Easy move-in! :)
