New rustic and quiet secluded 2 room cabin off-the-grid. Great for birdwatching and hiking. Close to snowmobile trail. Nearby Pike River for excellent trout fishing and the Menominee River. Walking distance to county land for hunting.

The space

This rustic space has no electricity and no running water. Hot water for showering needs to be gathered from the outdoor rain barrel and heated on the stove before being dumped into the tank for the shower. There is no refrigerator. A cooler is suggested. There is a gas stove for cooking. Some oil lamps for light. A generator in case power is needed.

Guest access

The entire cabin is available. There is a fire pit area outside with some seating.

What a great little place. Cute cabin off the beaten path but not hard to find. Rustic for sure but just enough amenities to make it comfortable and easy/enjoyable for anyone. Pat had some great stories and was polite and very helpful. Be sure to check out the Antiques and Ice Cream shop just up the road and visit every waterfall u can find. There are many of them within 15 minutes or so from the cabin. Bring your bug spray and your sense of adventure and you're sure to have a great time.

Nice cabin and easy communication with Pat and Brenda. Very calm environment and great for a break from city life. Clean water was provided for dishes and drinking water, and the kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs. This is nothing against the hosts, but there was a lot of rain before and during our stay, resulting in plenty of mosquitoes - I'd recommend bringing repellent, just in case!

This was a bit of change up for me and my family. We wanted something not as intense as camping, but a step away from hotels. We enjoyed our experience. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you could need. It's is clean and quiet. When we went the mosquitoes were in full force. It took us until day 3 to figure out what worked for us ( sawyer's repellent).

We loved our stay at the Lodge! Just as advertised, the cabin is nestled in a very private lot with forest all around. We were there for the Fourth of July and hardly saw any people when we were at the cabin. Just a short drive away are parks with waterfalls and small lakes that were perfect swimming spots for our three-year old. The cabin is cozy in all the best ways. We loved hanging out by the campfire and learning to cook on the tripod. Thanks, Brenda and Pat!

A repeat visit just as enjoyable as the last! Our late fall visit was wonderful in it's own way as was this Spring visit. (Both have their own special advantages.) We enjoy this location and these accommodations very much. Will be back again for sure!
