Burnside is a residential district of Glasgow that lies South East of Glasgow City Centre. You will find local people as well as tourists eating out in the restaurants and cafes. It is the oldest golf course in Glasgow founded in 1888 and sits 650 feet above sea level offering panoramic views over Glasgow to the Campsies and Arran Hills to the west. The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome/Emirates Arena and Tollcross International Swimming Pool/Aquatics Centre are easily reached from Burnside. Glasgow has great festivals: Celtic Connections Folk Festival, Glasgow International Jazz Festival and the Festival of Contemporary Visual Arts, Glasgow International Piping Festival.
