The perfect escape to the country - a 2 bedroom, converted barn on a smallholding in a rural setting yet less than a mile from a thriving village which has a small range of shops, 3 pubs, 2 cafes, post office and art gallery.

Please note that we don't accept pets

The space
A traditional stone barn which has been converted to a high standard and with spectacular views.

This is a self-catering property which adjoins our house and allows plenty of privacy for a restful country break.

Downstairs has a fitted kitchen with a full range of top quality appliances and a large open plan living/dining area. Large bi-fold doors open out onto a stone paved patio with far reaching views over the North Pennines AONB.

The living area has a large TV with FreeSat plus a Blu-ray/DVD player and a Bose WiFi/Bluetooth speaker. There are sofas with side tables and also a wood burner with some logs provided.

Upstairs has the main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has twin single beds which can be linked to make a super-king bed if required. There is also a fully equipped family bathroom with a bath plus a separate shower cubicle.

Guest access
Exclusive use of the converted barn which is adjacent to our house but has completely separate access. Please note that this is a smallholding setting (i.e. livestock, fields, grass footpaths) so it's a good idea to bring some wellies in case of wet weather or muddy fields.

We can provide a travel cot and stair gate if required but please let us know in advance if they will be required.

Other things to note
This is a working smallholding where we have chickens, rare breed Tamworth pigs and a small herd of native Dexter cattle. We are happy to show guests around and at feeding time the animals are always keen to see visitors.

Car parking is available a fenced area near the barn and covered storage space can also be made available for bikes etc.

When available there may also be home-produce to buy such as eggs, beef, pork, sausages or bacon

Our 200 year old stone farmhouse and barn are situated in the beautiful North Pennines AONB and, while less than a mile from Allendale village, this is a very peaceful, rural setting with wonderful open views to enjoy.

The surrounding area provides some great walking or cycling to appreciate the fantastic landscapes and dark skies at night for star gazing.
