My place is a cosy but very spacious two person appartment. It's ideally located near the Vondelpark, public transport and lots of restaurants and shops. Tram 1 stops just a 3 min walk away. The neighbourhood is very quiet, with lots of families. The supermarkets Albert Heijn or the Lidl are just a 5 min walk from the front door.
The appartment has a large living area with a combined kitchen and dining table. The kitchen has all the amenities you need for preparing a delicious meal.
When the weather is nice, the balcony will provide you with a lovely outside sitting area. There is a small folding table with folding chairs.
There is a nice and comfy couch in the living area with a televison set with a Chromecast. There is a broadband internet connection available.
The bathroom is small, but very comfortable. It contains a shower and a sink and the toilet is located separately from the bathroom.
The bedroom has a two person boxspring with a very comfortable mattress. All the sheets you need will be provided. The bedroom has a large closet with all the room you need for neatly storing your clothes.
Only the small room next to the bedroom is out of bounds for tenants. This is used for storage and is not accessible.
Please refrain from storing your stuff in the stairwell, as this is a common area used by all the tenants in the building.
Interaction with guests
Because I'm currently travelling I won't be physically available for helping around the apartment. One of my friends will be there to introduce you and help you around. I will be available by my (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) telephone number or e-mail address.
Other things to note
I hope you will have a great time staying in my house. To keep us both happy, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
•If you leave the house, switch off the heater. Check if doors and windows are closed. Check the stove. Lock the door.
•Close the downstairs door with care, think of the neighbors!
•Wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher to prevent the drain from clogging.
•Washing machine: Detergent is in the cabinet under the sink.
•The apartment doesn’t have a tumble dryer; there are washing racks behind the curtains.
•Be gentle with the fridge, it’s brand new!
•You can use the kitchen supplies.
•Fire extinguisher is behind the fridge.
•The fire alarm in the hallway is very sensitive, use the suction hood when cooking or baking. If the fire alarm somehow does go off, reach it with a chair and deactivate it with a pen.
•If the fuses break, the fuse box is in the little room next to the bedroom. If you need to reach this, contact my friend Fardau or me as soon as possible.
•It’s an old house and quite noisy so please mind the neighbors.
•If there’s something wrong or you can’t figure something out, you can always contact Fardau or me. You can call us if something is wrong or when an emergency occurs.
•Absolutely no smoking inside of the house.
•The pans are not dishwasher safe, as are the wooden cutting boards.
•Don’t leave food in the kitchen exposed, this might attract mice.
•Please take of shoes for the downstairs neighbors.
•First aid kit is above the middle kitchen cabinet.
•Vacuum cleaner is next to the large closet, behind the curtain.
•Please store mail addressed to me or my boyfriend (I. Kersten and/or H. Dorgelo) in the appertment, Fardau or my brother (Joost) will contact you every once in a while to arrange a pick-up.
