160 years old cosy cottage located in Ashburton right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Heaven for the outdoor enthusiasts. Located in a quaint old English village with a bunch of lovely food and antiques shops, wine bar and pubs.

The space

We hope you will enjoy and feel at home in our cosy cottage in lovely Ashburton, right on the edge of Dartmoor.

The ground floor has a large living room with a cosy vintage Chesterfield sofa to relax in and an antique table to dine at.

Wifi is provided.

The two bed rooms upstairs are both equipped with brand new king size double beds and new, comfortable mattresses for a good night sleep.
The master bed room is quite large – and if you need an extra fifth bed we can set up a camp cot bed (including extra bedding) for no extra cost.

In the kitchen you are more than welcome to use from all the basis such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil, vinegar, herbs and spices and all the other condiments. We love cooking ourselves – and there’s good selection of cook books available in the cottage.

The bathroom has a good shower and nice deep bath – great for relaxing after a day on the moor.

We were unable to get wifi or television( no signal) and could not get the radiator heating to work..the furniture was very second hand. There was fresh milk in the fridge, we had no phone and had no meeting with the owner. Although Marie's partner came in while we are out and got the tv to work for a few hours.nice location

Response from Marie Louise:
No one has had a problem with the wifi and the tv so far. We understand from our cleaner that she had to visit the house to show you how to work all the basic appliances including heating, cooker and TV despite there being clear and simple instructions left on the table. My partner also visited while you were staying to sort the TV out and left it working for you and switched on. We suggest you make yourself contactable by mobile phone or by using Airbnb. We had no means to contact you and you didn't contact my partner despite the fact he left his phone number at the property along with fresh basic instructions for the TV. Reference our furniture, it had all been purchased from the bespoke antique shops in Ashburton which we and all previous visitors agree meets with the period image of this 160 year old cottage.

This was my first experience with AirBnB and have to say it was perfect. Communication was great all the way through and the property had a great feeling. If I'm down that way again I would look to book myself back in. Thank you

A lovely little character property and the perfect base for our family adventures around Dartmoor.

The house is a lovely base if you want to be close to Dartmoor as you can be up there in 15 mins. The town centre is a 10 min walk with all the small shops you will need - co-op and spar open till late and all weekend too. A small point to bear in mind if you find stairs a bit trying, is that the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are quite steep. Marie made everything easy and the house was clean and tidy.

Perfect base to explore Devon, especially Dartmoor. Parking and check in were simple, facilities as described, and very clean. Had a question for host once I got there that was promptly answered. Would definitely stay here again.

Interaction with guests

We are happy to help and answer any questions. We won't be there to meet and greet you as we rent the cottage out when we are away ourselves, but we are only an email or a phone call away if needed.

You will have the entire cottage for yourself.
