Our stay at Grates Cove Studios was amazing! The owners of the property were friendly, and full of information about the area, but do not live "on-site." The home we stayed in was of newer construction, having originally been built for the owners themselves, and the rooms were quite inviting. A shared kitchen area (there are two rooms to rent, I believe) with a large dining table looking out upon the beautiful cove, front and center! Fully equipped kitchen; coffee, condiments, place settings, etc. Our room was also on the front of the house, with a large set of windows overlooking the cove, where we could see whales feeding the day we arrived! The bed was comfortable, and there is a pull out couch if needed. The bathroom was en-suite, and all towels etc were provided by the hosts. Out stay included breakfast, which was provided by the owners at their home/restaurant/studios just up the street. Amazing all around!!!

Crates Cove is a quiet, remote BnB with little else there but its raw, coastal beauty. Courtney's restaurant is the only public place to eat in the town. The locals are friendly, the historic stone wall hiking trails was like stepping back in time. We watched whales from our bedroom window. If you want to 'get away', this is the place to go!

Absolutely beautiful room with a million dollar view! Clean and quiet, the bed was lovely and we slept like babies. Breakfast was fantastic, best French toast ever, with fresh picked blueberries. We also had dinner at their restaurant which was also fantastic and the highlight of our vacation. Courtney is a fantastic saucier, her Cajun sauce on scallops is too wonderful to describe. Also had the cod with another fantastic sauce. Wonderful beets and fresh pork hamburger. We can't say too much about this place, if it were in California it would be a bargain at 5 times the price!

I had a wonderful, though brief, time staying in Grates Cove. Courtney and Terrence were wonderful hosts. They gave great suggestions for hikes in the area and ensured that I had everything I needed. The best part though, was the food that they prepared for breakfast and dinner. Other people have written about the food in their reviews, but it was still a surprise to find such wonderful food in a remote location.

The view from the master bedroom was breathtakingly beautiful. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. The owners also have a restaurant nearby. Expect an amazing breakfast, and I highly recommend getting dinner there as well!
