Response from Julie:
Hi Joe, the trash can on the side of the house isn't public I pay the trash company in town $50 a month to use it to put the trash in, i'm not sure why you didn't see it, its pretty big, but the cleaners were nice enough to take the trash you left out front on the ground, and put it in the trash bin on the side of the house for you.
The dumpster at Walmart (a mile away) is public and 'legal", its actual put there for the public to throw their large items away, and this is only asked of you if you have big boxes that don't fit into the large trash bin provided by the trash company I pay for every month, that we have on the side of the house. The cleaner's don't haul large trash items away for the guests, sorry.
The reason the checklist exists, if details are not written, they are not done. This helps for clarity for everyone involved. You are definitely required to clean up after yourselves, I'm sorry we don't offer personal maid service which is explained in the house rules before you decide to reserve the house.
Many vacation rentals (all timeshares), you must do 'all' the cleaning on your own, and leave it exactly as you found it, including washing all sheets, towels, making beds, scrubbing bathrooms, etc.
Our cleaners sanitize for the next guests and they have 4 hours of work to do from that alone. Unfortunately I have to spell things out on the checklist (rinse food from dishes before putting in dishwasher, don't leave wet towels on wood floors and furniture, etc) Unfortunately I have had to pay for repairs, which is the reason it is written that way in the checklist. For you the checklist may seem long if these things are common sense to you, but for others, they may not know not to do these things and then I have to pay for the repairs. Thank you!
