Cwm yr Wrach is a listed 19th century cottage, one of the closest to Snowdon itself and just above the Nant Peris Park&Ride. 5-10 minute walk (and carry) over some slightly rough ground from car parking. Perfect for hill-walking, climbing, cycling, writing, painting, or simply being off the beaten track. Wood/solid fuel fires on ground floor. Sheets, towels &c are provided. Secure cycle storage. The Vaynol Arms, our only local pub is 5 minutes walk. Llanberis: about 5 miles.

The space
Cwm yr Wrach, our much-loved cottage is a 5-10 minute walk from parking (Cae Gwyn Campsite) in Nant Peris. A splendid, isolated and secluded base..

Once a climbers' hut, then a cottage belonging to the well-known mountaineer Ian McNaught-Davis, Cwm y Wrach is now our retreat in the Snowdonia National Park. We love it....and we rent it out when we're not there, to encourage people to enjoy the area.

A cosy well-appointed kitchen, separate dining room, electric hob and ovens, separate sitting room; solid fuel fires. Slate floors.
Electric shower and bath in ground floor bathroom/loo; upstairs loo/basin. Three storage heaters, and fan heater.
One main bedroom (double bed) and two rooms with twin beds. Electric blankets throughout.
Adjacent utility room with washing machine and tumble drier, garden tools &c.

Fuel is provided (solid fuel, wood, firelighters, kindling).

Neighbourhood highlights

Snowdonia National Park - need I say more....you can climb Snowdon, rockclimb (or ice, in winter) or walk over to the Ogwen Valley. All depends on your experience.
The high ground above the cottage accessible for example from Gwastadnant, a short walk from Nant Peris, leads up to the Glyders
- magnificent and far less frequented than Snowdon.
Anglesey, Menai Strait (great boat trips from Menai Bridge), Caernarfon, Lleyn Peninsula, Port Madog, Port Meirion and Harlech are in easy reach by car.
