The space
Wake up to birdsong!
A cosy small romantic mid 19th century ex miners cottage located in the Danescombe valley overlooking the beautiful woodland between Calstock Village and the National Trusts Cotehele; a 20 minute walk to either. The cottage is one of a row of four in a tucked away wooded secluded position with river views.
Originally a miners cottage and later after the mines had closed the valley was cleared and devided into market gardens. Explore the wild ruins of a mining heritage. Enjoy a lovely lunch in the village riverside pubs. summer or winter a wonderful area to explore a peaceful place to be for nature lovers, bird watchers with wonderful walks directly from cottage.
Fantastic boatyard with lots of helpful information regarding the River.
Enjoy a afternoon kayaking,
Explore the Valley on boat, byclcle, or foot.
Spend an evening at the old chapel our art/ music venue.
A beautiful peaceful area of Cornwall you will never forget.

Guest access
Shared shower room. Toilet.
Continental breakfast. coffee & tea provided. (Vegetarian household)
Use of large garden with seating areas for relaxing while taking in the views.
Parking for one small/ medium sized car.
Very uneven steep off road track without any street lighting up to the cottage which adds to the seclusion and peaceful location.
Most guests access this with a normal car engine I myself drive a Renault Clio up the track daily perfectly ok.
Small area for parking 1 small/medium car near the cottage.

Other things to note
Access to the cottage is up a very "steep narrow track" and parking is tight.
While this is challenging it adds to the secluded location. Garden is on a steep slope and *property not suitable for children* or the less able, does though offer some great views!
Directions to Cottage.
Do not drive into centre of Calstock but follow the signs to Cotehele house as the road bends right keeping river on the left.
Follow this narrow road going under the viaduct pass the boatyard on your left continue until you come to Danescombe house a large house with balconies and blue front door which faces the river.
Immediately after this house on the right is a narrow bumpy public footprint track drive up this my cottage is on the right at the top no 4.
( no street lighting after dark, a torchlight could be useful.)
