About this listing

New, bright and fresh! The Beacon House is situated in the trendy Wellington neighborhood of Prince Edward County. Newly renovated and centrally located with panoramic views of Lake Ontario, Wellington Bay and West Lake. This Rental unit is located on the second floor of the Duke of Wellington Restaurant and is walking distance to several PEC hotspots!
This unit does not have a yard, but it does have a lovely large balcony to watch the boats in the harbour.

The space

The Beacon House is a newly finished, open concept space located on the second floor of a popular Wellington family restaurant. It is the first time this space has been opened up to the public and it has the most stunning water views!
The property is a short walk to restaurants, grocery store and boutique shopping. It is also a short drive from the Hillier region wineries.
You can see the Sandbanks and Sand Dunes from the balcony (but you will need a car to get there). There is no access to the back yard and therefore NO BBQ. There is a lovely balcony for you to use during your stay!
The house comes all set for your use, beds are made and towels are in each bathroom.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire second level, 3200 square feet of space! As well as the second floor balcony. The restaurant has the entire main level of the property and so The Beacon has no outdoor lawn space or water access. There is a public beach within walking distance as well as a park!

There are only 3 parking spots included with the property (additional parking is located in municipal free parking....please inquire)

Interaction with guests

We are available to our guests, but do not live on site. We are happy to assist guests with anything they need, but are not going to hover!
The restaurant on the main floor is NOT associated with The Beacon...during your stay, kindly direct any questions or concerns to the phone numbers provided.

Other things to note

This house is located above a family restaurant, which is open from noon until 10pm-ish. It's NOT a bar/club/loud place but there will be the associated hustle and bustle of a restaurant.
There are only 3 parking spaces available for this property but parking is available off site (please inquire).
There is no BBQ with this rental.
Canadian Holiday weekends are a 3 night minimum.

Great communication. I sent Christine multiple msgs about this and her other properties before booking. She was always clear and responded on time. The listing is bigger and nicer in person. It's been designed and decorated by someone with attention to detail and with good taste. Some listings show a limit of X number of people, but when you get there, you think...yeah i COULD house that many people but I wouldn't WANT to! This was NOT the case at all here. One of the bedrooms is actually a separate unit, i.e. you enter from a very close but separate door from the main space. Worked out awesome for my family with little kids that wake up early. That room is huge! I could've fit way more cribs in there (haha but no thanks). It is really bright though, so if you have light sensitive sleepers, come prepared. The rest of the bedrooms are spacious, with a minimal amount of furniture. Just enough to store things if you wanted to, but empty enough to make you feel relaxed and calm. If you're planning to dine out or only cook very simple meals, the kitchen will work just fine. We cooked most of our meals in and wished there were more supplies (e.g. strainer for pasta, drying rack for pots / large pans, measuring spoons, tea towels). There are a lot of bugs by the windows (exterior and in the screens). The property is right by the water so that's fair. I'm just warning those who see this modern listing and forget that this is not a condo in the city. When I first arrived, the sofa bed in my room was broken and could not be used (my preschooler was going to sleep there). I msged Christine and she arrived with an air mattress and bedding almost immediately. Thankfully my handy father (yay dad!) was able to bring it down to his car and pump it up, because it didn't come with a pump. It's been super rainy this year and yes we were right by the water, but the chairs and the railing on the balcony were covered in bugs and some white fuzzy stuff, so none of us sat out to enjoy the view. I think I'm pretty picky about where I stay....the location, cleanliness, esthetics, helpfulness of the host DO matter to me. Despite a few flaws, I'd still return to The Beacon. The pros totally outweigh the cons. This listing gets a hearty thumbs up from me; it deserves it!

What an amazing place! The location was perfect for a wine trip in PEC and we had more space than we knew what to do with. Perfectly designed and maintained for hosting a big group.

Christine is a great host! The accommodation is exactly as shown and is very clean and comfortable! The views of the water are amazing and its very close to the main town, grocery store and restaurants. Overall a great place to stay!
