House rules
This place isn’t suitable for infants (0–2 yrs) and the host doesn’t allow pets, parties, or smoking.
This west-facing, luxurious 5,000 square foot cottage is situated on Lake Muskoka with panoramic views and beautiful sunsets over the lake. It features a boathouse with a huge sundeck, a dock with clear, deep water for swimming. This is a family cottage and not suitable for party weekends. The neighbors are quite sensitive to noise and in order to respect them we have a noise curfew of 11pm.

The space
The "Cottage" allows for full enjoyment of life on Lake Muskoka, whether it is lounging on one of the three decks, feasting on the fresh produce that Canadian Summers have to offer, or enjoying the water. This is the perfect place for families to enjoy the natural beauty of Muskoka.

The boathouse is fully equipped with wake boards, water skis, tubes, a wake surfer, a kneeboard, a wake skate..... for you to use with your boat or one you rent at the marina. If you like a more sedate enjoyment of the lake there is a canoe and a kayak to paddle around in. If the water feels a little too cold after jumping or wading in, just remember to turn the boathouse Sauna on before you head out for your water adventure so you can warm up upon your return.

Meals turn into feasts when being prepared using the professional line of appliances in the spacious kitchen as well as an adjoining BBQ deck. Sitting down to the 12ft dining table that runs along the wall-to-wall windows facing the beautiful sunsets of Muskoka turns any dinner into a magical evening.

There are two fire pits, as well as two fireplaces, a pool table, a foosball table, and a large table that can be brought out onto the covered porch if you decide that Beer pong will be part of your trip!

All beds are topped with down duvets and quilts, allowing you to sink into a restful sleep after your action packed days on the water. There are two jet tubs that will ease any aching muscles.

And if you need to work off the "night before" or simply maintain your exercise regime while on holiday there is a "Muskoka Room" gym overlooking the water with a treadmill, matts and a selection of weights that will do the trick. The gym is completely screened in allowing you to "work-out" outside with out worrying about pests.

The boathouse has a king size bed as well as a sitting area, a bar and a fridge if you decide to entertain on its' large sun filled deck. The morning sun shines down on the Porch on the East side of the house where you can soak it up either in a hammock or lounging on the 16 seater couch.

The "Cottage" has been a constant source of happy memories for our family over the years and we would love for you to start building your happy memories there as well.

Notes for Winter Rentals
Please note that there is a very steep hill that you will need to drive down so getting there in the winter is only possible with a 4 wheel drive car/truck. The boathouse is also not "winterised" so the cottage sleeps 11 in beds in the winter.

Guest access
Visitors will be able to access all parts of the cottage except the wine cellar and the Office.

Other things to note
If you are interested in renting a boat you can do so at AllPort Marina which is a 3 minute car ride away or a 5 minute boat ride from the cottage. Here is the link. (URL HIDDEN)

Location

Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada

Our Cottage is 2 hours from Toronto, the most southern area of Muskoka, the closest of all the lakes. The closest town is Bracebridge (10 minute drive away) where you will be able to get everything that you need. There is a farmers market there every Saturday morning until noon. There is also a fresh produce stand on the drive to Bracebridge everyday, allowing you to use the freshest of ingredients in all your cooking.

Bracebridge was built around a waterfall on the Muskoka River in the centre of town, and is known for its other nearby waterfalls (Wilson's Falls, High Falls, etc.)

The area of Muskoka: On several occasions Muskoka has been recognized by National Geographic Traveler magazine as a special place to visit.

Highlights of Bracebridge (if you can tear yourself away from The Cottage):
-Santa's village: 2 mini golf courses, zip lines, small roller coaster, go carts, etc. great for kids of all ages.
-Golf : South Muskoka golf course and Highlands are 10 minutes away, in Bracebridge. There are another dozen golf courses around the lake too!
-There are 15 waterfalls in the area and some great hiking areas too.
-Steamship tours: Segwin and the Winona, and Lady Muskoka boat tours: these boat tours will take you all around the lake where you will visit Millionaires Row, the Old cottages of the turn of the century.
