A spacious cottage with an exposed beam, cathedral ceiling living room, two queen downstairs bedrooms and an upstairs attic bedroom - set in a secluded, bush garden with grassy area - only 2 minutes to beach or walk along beach to town for good coffee.

The space
Every room looks out on the garden, and each bedroom (except the attic) has french doors leading to outside. There is a grassy area which is great for children to play. There is plenty of off-road parking space.

Guest access
The entire house and extensive garden is yours and completely private. There is outdoor seating and tables for a barbecue or picnic. Entry to the house is by key from the key safe - we will supply the code.

Other things to note
A beautiful walk and cycle path along the edge of the sea leads into town in one direction. It leads to a beautiful cliff walk from which you can see seals and in season, occasionally whales. Continue on along the esplanade to historic Point Reeves with a beautiful view over the spit, where the first settlement in South Australia occurred - now occupied by large numbers of shore birds.

The beach is a 2 minute walk through a park. It is a safe beach for children to play. A tow path along the edge of the beach leads into town (about 2.5k) where you can get breakfast and good coffee. This is a beautiful walk through bushland with sea views. Alternatively you can walk along the beach in either direction. You will see many birds - pelicans, swans, masked lapwings, ibis.

I am a retired health worker living in Adelaide. A while ago I made a conservation trip to a beautiful Island called Kangaroo Island where there are spectacular beaches and animals which no longer exist on the mainland. I have visited many times, at first staying in a small unit which I renovated. Recently I bought a spacious, architect-designed cottage close to the beach, in a bushy area just outside a small coastal town of Kingscote (pop about 1600). I'm thrilled because the house is full of character, spacious and comfortable, there is a large garden and an abundance of tiny birds such as the blue wren, white eyes and finches that I no longer see in Adelaide. I walk along the beach every morning and find it a peaceful, beautiful secluded place to relax.
