We are thrilled to share Serenity with you in the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada, just minutes from Giant Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Please make yourself at home away from home on thirteen acres untouched nature. This home is for those that love the natural environment, plants, animals, and everything that comes with it. We are a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat and work hard to comply with the NWF standards.

The space

Serenity is at the end of a Cul de sac and offers complete privacy on 13 acres. The view from the deck and front of the house overlooks a lovely meadow and the seasonal Mill Creek just beyond. The house comfortably sleeps 8-10 persons on a Master bedroom king, an adjacent loft with two twin size and two full size beds and a family room queen sofa sleeper. Enjoy the view from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio. The home has a fully stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, and two bathrooms. There is plenty of space for parking, to spread out, and to make yourself at home.

We don't charge a deposit and there are no minimum stays. We want you to enjoy Serenity, even if for just one night, without breaking the bank.

Please inquire about special pricing if you would like to hold your special event at Serenity.

Guest access

The guests will have access to the entire house, inside and out. The meadow, and the seasonal creek.

There is a fire pit on the patio and there is wood available for your use.

Interaction with guests

We will be available for communication up to, during, and after your stay via the AirBnB app and phone. We will not be present during your stay. You will have complete privacy. Periodically, I am up at the property working and am able to greet you as you arrive, but this is a rarity.

Other things to note

Serenity is located 12 minutes from the town of Squaw Valley. It is at the end of the road and VERY private and secluded. If you truly want to "Get Away From It All", you have found your home away from home!

We want you to enjoy your stay. Please communicate and let us know if you have any questions right away. You can call from the house phone or message using the AirBnB App.

The house is located in wild farming country. There are insects, birds, bats, rodents, livestock, fox, deer, coyote, and wild turkeys. You can help us keep the critters out, by leaving the doors shut.

Please do not remove items from the property.

If you notice something is missing that should obviously be in the house, such as a can-opener, please notify us immediately so we can replace.

If something is damaged or breaks, please let us know so we can fix or replace.

Your cell phone WILL NOT work at the property, although you will be able to use WIFI for Web-Based phone Services.

Once your reservation is confirmed you will have access to the directions to the house which include the access to the code for the house and the house phone number which you can share with your friends and family.

Print directions before you leave. Your GPS will stop working before you arrive at the property.

Please do not watch videos, use video services, or listen to music over wifi. We have an excellent and extensive collection of vhs and dvd movies at the house. Unfortunately our satellite internet data is limited and is very slow. Once the 50GB allotment for the month is used up, the service becomes extremely slow. While we would like to, we are unable to purchase more or better internet service due to the lack of service providers in the area.

Please DO NOT BOOK if you require a fast, reliable internet connection. The internet is reliably slow and sometimes fast.

Please do not smoke inside the house. You may smoke on the very large patio the wraps around the house.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - There is a small flight of stairs between the driveway and the patio. There are also stairs from the downstairs to the upstairs of the house.
Pet(s) live on property - Seasonally, wildlife, livestock, and peacocks come and go as they please. Look, but don't touch my neighbors pets. Sometimes they leave a mess.
Some spaces are shared - There are doors on the restrooms (of course), but the stairwell is open and the sleeping loft and master bedroom are separated only by a curtain.
Amenity limitations - Internet and Wifi is weak and limited.

Beautiful, comfy and off the grid. Sandra and Daniel's beautiful home and location was just what we needed to relax and have fun together.

You can’t beat the intimate tranquility of the surroundings that this space offers. The pictures don’t give the property justice. Great for a couple or a large group. No door to the guest loft with the sleeping space so be cautious if you want a more intimate retreat than little ears can handle. ;)

This is a beautiful place to stay. The house is spacious and well stocked with everything necessary. There was a little basket of goodies, like Tylenol, and bug repellent spray in the kitchen. There were even condiments in the fridge. The beds were comfortable, and the house was a clean, relaxing environment. There are loads of DVDs and books in the living room, as well as a map where you can place a pin where you're from. The main bedroom is huge and beautiful. There is another little room that opens off it that has a curtain hung in the doorway. It is not completely private, but it's fine for staying with family, as we were. There is a deck off the main bedroom that is perfect for stargazing, which we did when we arrived. It was our first time using Airbnb, and it was such a wonderful experience that we probably won't be staying at hotels when we travel in the future. We'll definitely be back to stay here next time we visit the sequoias.

We stayed here with a few friends for our wedding in Sequoia National Park, and enjoyed the rural location of the house. We are from rural Iowa so it was very much like home. We drove to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park each day during our stay which was a time friendly drive. We appreciated all the notes left around the house. It seemed the water had a pretty strong well water odor which wasn't an issue for us, but we did buy bottled water for drinking, etc. We have a 18 month old and loved all the kid friendly accommodations the house offered.

We have lived in Central California since June of 2014 and have come to know and love the area. We have traveled to Giant Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks several times and can offer tips if you'd like.

Before moving to Visalia we lived in the North San Diego area. I maintain a tax accounting practice in Visalia and Danny works from home as an Online High School Math Teacher. Between the two of us we have six children and two grandchildren.

We love people and want to share our experiences and learn from yours.

We appreciate, value, and care about education, helping the under-served, nature, movies, books, gourmet food, slow food, a good home cooked meal, conversation, hiking and camping.
