A sustainable sunny single room studio, set in the garden and away from the main house. Includes comfortable queen-size sofa bed, TV, kitchenette and bathroom. Wi-Fi included.

A two minute walk to the train station (30 mins to CBD).

The space

The studio is set away from the main house, nestled in the tree-filled yard.
The newly-renovated facilities include a kitchenette (with microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle) and bathroom (toilet and shower). The toilet is run off tank water and solar panels power the place (and hot water) during the day.

The sofa pulls out to a comfortable full-sized queen bed.

Guest access

Please note that access to the studio is a little steep and not recommended for low-mobility travellers.
For those travelling by car, there is one car space (small car only) available off the street, and there is plenty of free street parking.
Guests are free to enjoy the backyard.
If you require clothes washer, this is shared with the main house.

Interaction with guests

We live in the main house and are happy to provide recommendations and advice.

Other things to note

We should note that based on our 'green' philosophy, we do not have an air conditioner installed. There is an electric blanket for cold days and a fan for hot days. Most guests have had no problem in these times, but if this is an issue then this may not be the place you are after.

Adam was great in making sure that we found the place and checked in smoothly. He was available during our stay to help if we needed. His place is very close to the train station which was awesome! The train ride from the CBD is not as long as it seems on the map and it's quite easy to get around

This is a great little cottage in a delightful suburb. There are some downsides to staying here. The train line is close and the fold out couch/bed option is always a bit hard for an extended stay. But this is a great place to stay.

Response from Adam:
Thanks for the feedback Chris - most people remark on how comfortable the bed is for a sofa but definitely the intention is to eventually put a permanent bed there.

A great little find if you are looking for something near Parramatta. Adam’s place has everything you’ll need and is really easy to find, had plenty of unmetered street parking (yay!) Great communication, would definitely recommend.

For a solo traveller Adam's place is great. It is conveniently located minutes from the train station and going to and from the city center is a breeze. It is also in a very good neighborhood where I feel safe walking in the streets late at night. Thank you Adam for your kind hospitality!

This is such a hidden gem. I loved the space, the garden, the location. The description is honest. The hosts were down to earth & respectful. I really enjoyed my time in the studio & would recommend it.

I had a pleasant stay. The property is set back from the road and down a long driveway so it feels (nicely) secluded. The granny flat (reminded me of a cabin) is at the top of a pretty garden. Adam's main house is quite close but I didn't hear a peep, and frankly, I like the added security. Studio is a small space but good for me for one week. Shower pressure is good and strong. No sink in bathroom (in the kitchenette/main room). Kettle and toaster for making breakfast. Bar fridge and microwave (both clean). Good strength internet and large tv (if less boring than me, there's the garden to enjoy). 5 min walk to the closest station (Denistone) from studio. 10-12 minute walking downhill (then up, naturally) to shops (woolies, coles, + other & pub and West Ryde station). The train noise was not a concern for me. You can hear them whoosh past but I didn't find it disturbing (maybe they run infrequently after 10 pm). On Friday night a freight train or two came through and they were LOUD. It was before 10 PM and a Friday so...Adam was friendly and an easy communicator. As Adam has said, there is no elevator at Denistone so lugging a suitcase takes energy. All in all a good stay and recommended.

My Name is Adam and I'm from Sydney, Australia.

My wife and I love travelling, and it makes all of the hard work worth it. We like 'lower key' experiences in travelling, which is why we use airbnb.

As a guest we offer a clean, friendly and reliable guest who will most likely be out and about enjoying the sights and sounds of where I am rather than watching TV.

We have just finished making our studio self contained so are happy to offer it up for interstate and international visitors. Sydney is expensive enough as it is so we have priced it so people are not broke before they experience all there is to offer in Sydney and its surrounds.
