This luxurious yurt is set in a peaceful olive grove, with sweeping views to the Majella mountain. Part of a small organic farm, thirty minutes from the Abruzzo International Airport, at Pescara, and a three hour drive from Rome. There are three National Parks within a short distance where the amazing scenery and fine cuisine of Abruzzo can be enjoyed. Essentially a space for two, we can provide extra beds for children under-17, at a cost of €25 per day/bed.

The space
Open all year round ,you can choose to lie on the beach, walk or ski in the mountains, fly fish, canoe or simply enjoy the wonderful food and wine - there's plenty to do in both summer and winter and we hope that you will enjoy this unique experience. There is a wood burning stove to keep you warm in winter and air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer, if needed. We also offer on site archery and clay pigeon shooting to interested parties and there are two bicycles for your exclusive use. Whilst the guests of The Pool House have priority, the swimming pool may be available for your use from time to time. There is also a hot-tub at the yurt, which is heated by wood in the cooler months.

Guest access
The yurt is situated in its own private garden and olive grove, within the confines of a seven hectare gated park, where as our guests, you are most welcome to walk and relax at your leisure. You will be provided with a remote control to come and go as you please through the main gates to the estate.

Location

Catignano, Pescara, Italy

Abruzzo is, as yet, an undiscovered gem in the heart of Italy; blessed with a myriad of glorious, unspoilt villages and magnificent National Parks, where chamois, bears and wolves may still occasionally be seen under the right conditions . In winter you can ski on uncrowded pistes with often spectacular weather conditions. In summer, the 3000 meter mountain ranges of the Gran Sasso and Maiella offer a sublime trekking and mountaineering experience.
The area is renowned for very high quality olive oil as well as the wine made from the Montepulciano, Trebbiano and Pecorino grapes. A visit to Valentini's, in Loreto Aprutino, to sample his world class Trebbiano and then to the Olive Oil Musuem is a quite unforgettable experience.

Of English origin, I moved to Italy in 1995 and now produce organic olive oil from our farm, using biodynamic methods. My ambition is to tastefully and discretely develop our fifteen hectare farm to include seven unique accommodations, each set in their own private garden and affording guests the opportunity to experience a working olive farm first hand, whilst being well situated to explore the many and varied delights of Abruzzo.
