Escape to HoweOnEarth, an 80-acre nature retreat on Howe Island in the 1000 Islands. The Robin’s Nest, a stunning off-grid cabin, offers seclusion, star-gazing, and wildlife. Enjoy mornings on the deck, cozy nights by the hearth, and explore groomed trails. Nearby, discover Gananoque's dining and theatre or Kingston's historic sites. Perfect for birdwatchers and cyclists.

I am a Wedding Officiant. Is tying the knot surrounded by nature a dream of yours? I can make that come true!

The space
Howe Island is located between Kingston and Gananoque in the Thousand Islands. It is accessible via a 10 car ferry (County Ferry) on the western end of the island and a three car ferry (Foot Ferry) on the eastern end. The fee is $10 k per car round trip paid in cash or Honk app. Both run on demand. The County ferry runs 24hrs. The Foot Ferry 0600- 1130pm

The Robin's Nest is easily accessed by car and is near the middle of the 80 acres allowing for complete privacy. Power is supplied by a solar panel system. There is no running water. Water for drinking and washing is provided. There is no indoor toilet and no shower.

An outhouse is nestled privately in the woods close to the cabin. The path is lit at night. Inside is a Nature's Head composting toilet. Instruction on it's proper use is provided and any questions you have, I am happy to answer.

A meandering network of groomed walking trails allows you to experience the abundance of nature up close.

This is a birders paradise; over a hundred species of birds have been recorded here.

The small pond is part of a Ducks Unlimited project with expansion planned for 2026. If you are lucky you may spot the Blanding Turtle, a species at risk.

Stroll past the Managed Forest. 4000 trees have been planted to help fight climate change and provide habitat for wildlife. Take a walk in the shade of the old growth forest where both Screech and Barred owls live, along with many White Tailed Deer and coyote.

The Robin's Nest was built by a Howe Island craftsman using local stone and timber. It rests on a hill overlooking rolling fields. The Northwest sky offers magnificent sunsets.

The cabin accommodates 4 people. The loft is open and breezy with windows on 3 sides. It has a comfortable queen size Endy mattress with underbed storage. There is a double pull-out couch in the living room.

The living room features a beautiful stone fireplace with newly installed gas insert. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking/baking. The classic appliances are new.

Enjoy the BBQ. Please clean grill for next folks.
