It was a really nice stay with a lovely view over the bay and amazing sunsets. I would come back and would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a nice flat in a very peaceful area. Renting a car is recommended though if you want to explore a bit of the island. Thanks for the nice stay and I think I'll come back.

We are not long back from 1 12 day stay at this lovely house/villa. The photos are not at all deceiving, the house is as nice and homely as the photos portray and the views probably even more stunning especially in the mornings when you stroll out on to either of the balconies. There was only the two of us but the home would easily cater for 4 and still seem roomy. The house was clean, modern and well laid out with everything you need and we really did feel at home from the moment we walked through the door on day 1 and we were still finding interesting pictures or ornaments at the end of the break that we had not noticed before, which tells you just how well adorned the walls and shelves were. The 3m x 4m pool does not sound too big, but we loved it and found it the perfect size and depth just to fall into and cool down. The area is quite secluded and private but definitely not enough to make you feel isolated. we regularly chatted with "neighbours" and managed to WALK to 6 different restaurants/tavernas (all within 3km) between Plaka and Kokkino Chorio. The nearest shop is only 250mtrs away albeit via a steepish walk. You will see most reviews will say that a car is essential, but we opted not to have one for this break, preferring to have a really low-key break and we managed fine. The walk into Plaka was a pleasant 20 mins and walking around Kokkino was also nice and the locals (Greek or UK) that we bumped into were all very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of BBQs at home and then ate out every other day for evening meals, The prices were as low as any other Greek Island that we have visited, if not lower, with typical prices being 4 euros for half lir carafe red/white wine and 2 or 3 euros for small and large draught beers. Main meals were from just 7 euros (Stifado/moussaka etc). You will also nearly always have a complimentary small dessert with Raki at the end and on many occassions we even had drinks during the meal "on the house". Remarkably cheap and decent quality too. We loved the accommodation, we loved the area and as always, loved the Greek people and way of life. thanks Ed & sue for putting this property on the letting sites and allowing us to have such a great holiday. Highly recommended to all. Steve & Angela, northants

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay in Thomas Villa. The views from the balcony are just amazing and the house had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend renting a car to explore the island... We did this and saw some amazing beaches and towns. Thanks!

Thomas house was just the most perfect accommodation for our family holiday in Crete. Can't fault our hosts for speedy communication and help beforehand/ during our stay. If you want the most beautiful sunsets, a quiet and peaceful location with tonnes of character, and don't mind a bit of a drive through the twisty (very picturesque, and only 45ish mins from chania airport) roads, then this is the place for you!! We had such a wonderful time and I'm sure will be returning as soon as we can!! Definitely recommend supper at the local taverna up the hill too (To Yaladiko) - we got there super early as were eating with 11 month and 3 year old, and they were very accommodating - and we got the most amazing pudding FOC!! Excellent value for money and very good food! The closest beach resort, almyrida, was so family friendly, not too busy although this may have been because we went in May, but not too built up and lots of lovely beach restaurants to visit. Perhaps the only thing I would mention, as someone with little ones, is that it isn't the flattest of places, so you just have to be a bit careful with steps etc, but I wouldn't say it was an issue and you can see from the pics that the villa isn't in the flattest of places! Which actually is what makes it so beautiful... Overall, we had a really lovely holiday and I couldn't recommend it more! Thank you Ed and Sue!

Absolutely beautiful spot and well worth the drive. House was great - had everything you could need (except wifi!) Views are stunning, lots of things to see and do in the area. Little convenience shop not too far away. Beautiful country and fabulous house and position.

We had a great time in this charming villa! Ed and Sue provided very nice and detailed directions for arrival and instructions for the use of the house's amenities. This house is up in the mountains with an amazing view! You can see the sea from all the rooms, and the lights of Chania and little towns around the island. The house had everything we needed, it is a very comfortable place, and our kids had a lot of fun in the pool!! We were also provided with a list of recommendations for guests: where to go for groceries, which tavernas to try for dinner, how to get to nice beaches etc... We went to some of the recommended places and had great experiences there, with some really good food. All in all, we were more than happy with our choice, and for sure, when we go to Crete again, we would love to stay in this beautiful and very quite place again. Thanks to Ed and Sue for everything!! My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely week at Ed & Sue's villa. The villa was exactly as described and the images reflect it very well. The area is quite secluded so a car is definitely necessary, but for us the quietness was perfect and the views across the mountains in the evenings were fantastic. Communication with Ed was easy and fuss-free and the instructions on how to find the villa from the airport and recommendations on places to eat and visit were extremely useful. I would definitely recommend Ed & Sue's villa and wouldn't hesitate to book it again. Thank you!

Sue and I are a couple with four "grown-up" children living in London and Sydney. Together with Sue's sister, Jenny we have a charming house on Crete which we all visit as often as we can but also love to share with other Airbnbers.

We were new hosts in 2016 and have been delighted with the feedback from our visitors from all over the world! We too have been Airbnb guests on our travels so will do our best to make Thomas House as special and welcoming as possible.
