Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Nesled among the white pines, this cozy 3 bdrm cottage is just steps from the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal. Excellent swimming, fishing, paddling, cycling and hiking. A 2-3 min walk to the water and to the general store, Brown's Marina, Lockmaster Museum, the Mill Art Gallery, the Cataraqui Trail, Dorothy's Lodge and the Opinicon Resort. Your hosts also operate Rideau Canal Boat tours and offer bike, kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard rentals onsite.

Other things to note
The Chaffey's Lock Community Hall is right next door. There are concerts and special events held at the hall on most weekends so lots of wonderful music but usually only until 11pm. During Covid this Summer and Fall 2020 we are asking guests to bring their own bedding. We have adopted additional cleaning and sanitizing protocols to ensure the safety of our guests.

Where you’ll be

Elgin, Ontario, Canada

There is often wonderful live outdoor music in the neighbourhood and lots of boat and pedestrian traffic since the cottage is in the village close to the Locks. Deer, racoons, porcupine and chipmunks make regular visits around the cottage and you will hear the loons calling in the evening. Bring a fishing rod for some great bass fishing! (fishing licenses. available at Brown's Marina just steps away).

Bonjour! I am a French Canadian Tourism Consultant who loves the great outdoors and water activities. In the summer we spend most of our time boating or paddling the Rideau Canal, Ontario's Only World Heritage Site! My husband Luc and I operate Rideau Tours so you can also rent bikes, kayaks, canoes or paddleboards and even take a guided boat tour. Il nous fera plaisir de vous accueillir chez nous sur le Canal Rideau!
