Beautifully designed room, Adria, on the stunning island of Hvar, located in the historic old town of Stari Grad by the harbour. Hosts that really care and so many wonderful restaurants on the door step. 3 other double rooms available.
Hidden House is a boutique B & B and is also our home. We fell in love with Stari Grad 14 years ago and know you will too.
We provide a welcome stay in our home and a local breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, toast and pastries with local honey and jams, coffee and a selection of teas.
Adria is one of 4 bedrooms that we have at Hidden House, there are 3 other rooms available also, if you are coming with friends or family, please do let us know. You can see them all on our profile.
Adria is named after the Adriatic sea, clear, calming and beautiful. This room has all of that but with a hint of french boudoir, with the floral curtains and an accordion.
Adria has a queen size (150 cm x 200) antique cast iron bed and has a pocket sprung mattress. We use the best quality bedding and Fogarty duck and goose down duvets and pillows in the cooler months and light summer duvets or just cotton top sheets in the heat of the Summer. However we can change them for hollow fibre should you have an allergy (just let us know in advance). There is a wardrobe for your clothes as well as shelving and bed side cabinets with bedside lamps.
Quality bathroom towels are provided as well as beach towels and a hairdryer. And to make it easier with the packing we provide quality bathroom products by L'Occitane en Provence.
The bathroom has lovely white London tube style tiles with a Duravit designed basin, toilet and shower.
We have used the best lighting, such as Tom Dixon, Rothchild & Bickers, Vita and a few of our own designs with vintage and antique furniture and an eclectic selection of art around our home and all rooms have shutters to keep out the heat and electric fans. We are unable to provide air conditioning as we are in the heart of the historic town and it is prohibited to have the units on the outside of these wonderful stone buildings.
If you are big on Air conditioning, we are not for you. Sorry.
The open plan lounge and kitchen is on the ground floor and is cosy yet it stays relatively cool in the Summer. It has 2 lovely large black leather chesterfield sofas, a large flat screen tv perfect for the our large DVD library and is set up to work with laptops if you have any special films you want to play. We also have a excellent sound system with 100's of CDs, and Vinyl with Technics decks and a vast music library from one of our macs. However do remember there are other guests who might not like your music too loud all day and night. We also have a comprehensive library of books for you to read whilst you are with us at Hidden House but please please don't take them with you, let them stay for other guests.
The brand new Bosch Kitchen has everything you will need if you do want to rustle up a meal, however with 100's of restaurants to choose from serving the best quality local food, why would you need to ?
We do have 4 adorable stray cats that are now very much our family, Nissan, Marmalade,Nigel and Dave (the girl). They spend most of their time asleep on the top floor in our room but they do escape very occasionally down to the lounge. We do try to keep them out of the bedrooms at all times. However if you do have bad allergies, we might not be right for you.
We love pets and are fine if you want to bring a well behaved pet to stay but contact us first so we can have a word with our cats.
We have owned bars, restaurants and a hotel in the last 21 years together, in the UK, Ibiza and now Hvar and have both been in the hospitality business for a very long time. We love meeting new guests and will help you in anyway we can to make your stay with us a truly wonderful experience. The island of Hvar is a very special place and we hope you will come back time after time.
The price is slightly different as you go into peak season, starting at 750 kn and then in the middle of June, July and August it is 850 kn per night then it comes down again. (These are our new 2018 prices). We do have a 3 night minimum stay and check out is at 11.00 and check in at 14.00.
Very occasionally we will also rent out the whole house including our master bedroom at the top of the house. If you are interested in hiring the whole house with this extra huge bedroom taking it to 5 double rooms let us know. This listing is on Air B & B and you can see it on our profile.
We look forward to welcoming you to our hide away, Hidden House.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Interaction with guests
We can help you in anyway we can, recommendations for restaurants, bars, diving, fishing, rent a boat, rent a car, rent a bike, wine tours and so much more. We even host Cocktail School for a minimum of 4 people by a legend in the industry Chris Edwardes.
Other things to note
Stari Grad, although much, much quieter than Hvar town is still a buzzing, lively historic town with many bars restaurants close to us and so it can be a little noisy as people eat and wander around the small cobbled street until midnight. However you will be doing the same I'm sure and enjoying what Stari Grad has to offer before a good nights rest.
If you are coming by ferry from Split to Stari Grad, we will pick you up at the ferry port. If you are coming by car, we will arrange with you a place to meet you (the taxi rank by the entrance to the town is the easiest as it is right by a small car park) to show you where the paid car parks are and hopefully a few hidden places to park for free, if available.
This is our home as well as a lovely B & B and so we don't cater for hen or stag parties or single sex parties wanting to party, but there are plenty of places in Hvar town that might be able to help. As our house is directly off one of the historic stone streets, we prefer that you don't wear your outdoor shoes around the house, also all the floors are wooden and it keeps the noise down as well. Also we are a non smoking house. Thank you.

Music, Art, Film, Dance, Culture, Nature and Travel. All these things inspire me.
But most of all I love my family and my cats.
