Enjoy 2 spacious master bedroom suites on a quiet tree-line street just off of Stanton Park. The home is located 6 blocks from the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and Senate offices. Metro, restaurants and grocery also close by! Easy street parking.

The space

Stay in DC for holidays like the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. This is a 3 story home on historic Capitol Hill with fully equipped kitchen and spacious living room and dining room on the 1st floor. On the second floor there are 2 master bedroom suites separated by a long hallway. On the lower lever is a half bath and washer/dryer that you can use.

Our home is only 20 minutes from the airport (DCA) and street parking is available. You'll be within walking distance of two metro stations (Union Station and Eastern Market), the grocery store and fantastic restaurants and night life. From this location you can easily access both the Eastern Market/Barrack's Row area as well as the H Street Corridor! If you want recommendations of restaurants, cafes, and places to visit, be sure to ask.

Capitol Hill is one of the greenest in the city and really has the feel of being a neighborhood rather than a city! From the pictures you can see that the home is on a tree lined street (like much of the hill). Stanton Park is less than a block away and is a popular park for dog, people and kid watching.

The week of 4th of July is fantastic in DC. The fireworks are of course an awesome sight and are within walking distance of our home. I also recommend the concert put on by PBS on the west lawn of the US Capitol. The dress rehearsal is on July 3rd and then the main show on July 4th. The main difference is that the concert on July 3rd has fewer crowds, doesn't have all the performers and doesn't end with the fireworks.

Guest access

The guest have access to the entire house that includes a large open living a dining room, kitchen with coffee maker, kettle for tea, a back deck, refrigerator, and other kitchen amenities. There's also a back deck.

Interaction with guests

There is limited interaction with the host, but the host is easily accessible by text, email and phone.

Other things to note

The home was built in the mid-1800's and was fully restored with historical detail in 1998. The home is very clean and well maintained. I have lived in the home since 1999.

Eric was a great host. We texted him when we arrived at the airport, and he promptly responded, welcoming us to Washington and telling us to let him know if we needed anything. There was a welcome packet upon our arrival at his home with helpful information regarding nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and transportation. His parking pass was very useful for parking our rental car on the street. Although we had a rental car, we found that Uber was affordable and the best way to get around the city. It was fast and convenient. The listing description was very accurate. The neighborhood was family friendly with a park nearby. My wife, two teenage sons, and I were comfortable walking to and from the home each day, especially at night. There was always people walking up and down the street and around the neighborhood. The home is within walking distance of the Capitol and Library of Congress, with the National Mall approximately a half mile walk from there. This family vacation was our first Airbnb experience and will definitely not be our last. Eric's home was our perfect home away from home.

Loved our stay here! Great to stay in one of the DC townhouses and feel like a local. Eric has created a really nice home with very good taste. Spacious, well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable, pretty beds and bedding. We liked hanging out on the back porch every morning and evening. A/C worked great (it was over 100 degrees one day while we were there). Super handy location within walking distance to several cool shopping/eating areas, including the Eastern Market. Also walking distance to the Capitol Building, Senate buildings, etc. Not even too far too the Mall, although it's a bit further. Only negative was that the street is kind of busy so the secondary/front bedroom was noisy. Back/Master bedroom was quiet. Great stay all around and would definitely stay here again. Eric was fantastic when we had an scheduling issue and was a great host.

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful! Eric was a gracious host, very welcoming and accommodating and the description of the property was accurate. Situated on a beautiful tree lined street with brick sidewalks and well manicured flowering front yards, the lovely 1800's era row house awaits your arrival. The entire street is picture perfect, a step back in time. Inside has been tastefully rennovated with all the necessary modern conveniences while maintaining the integrity of the original property. The furnishings are a mix of period antiques and comfortable traditional pieces with a personal touch and designer's eye. It was an added benefit to have the outside deck just off the kitchen, which was great for enjoying morning coffee and evening cocktails. Upstairs felt like you were in a tree house, beautiful greenery views out every window. The two ensuite bedrooms were good sized, each offering comfy queen beds, quality linens and seating. The property is well located and we enjoyed walking. If not, we utilized the convenience of Uber or the bike share stations. All things considered, it was the perfect place for our DC visit and we would most definitely return.

This was another positive AirBnB experience. The rental looks exactly like the photo's. The host met us at the door, gave us a tour of this lovely place. Our inquiry texts were answered within minutes. The rental was gorgeous, comfortable, quiet and centrally located. We felt like we were at home. This is a great rental for two couples, as bedrooms (and very comfortable beds) are on either end of the house and each has a private bath. The outdoor area was lovely. There were great restaurants within walking distance. Getting into the city was easy. I would highly recommend this place and would stay here again if in DC. Really cannot think of anything negative to say. Eric is the consummate host.
