Great quiet place to stay. Yurt was well stocked - loved having a fridge and microwave.

We stayed at the yurt for the Shanendoah half marathon. It was conveniently located near the start and finish lines. The host was extremely helpful when we arrived very late, due to inclement weather on the way. We had difficulty finding our yurt in the dark at midnight, but Annette walked us through & succeeded in helping us locate the yurt. The host was available to answer all of our questions throughout the weekend. We really enjoyed the view of the river from the yurt.

This was my first yurt experience and it was wonderful. The yurt was very clean and furnished nicely. The coffee maker, fridge and microwave were clutch for cooking on the grill over the weekend and having a hot cup coffee to wake up to in the morning. Being right on the lake was absolutely breathtalking and refreshing. The bathrooms were clean and having showers available was a plus. Annette made sure to stop in during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and were settling in. Great experience!!!

We had a splendid time in the Cherokee Rose yurt. It was, for us, just the perfect balance of camping out and availability of necessities. Watch out for the rocks in that river... our legs are all banged up! Thanks, Annette.

Annette is really a super host and lives up to her reputation. The place is beautiful and well kept. My only comment is that there is a campsite less than 6ft behind the yurt, just something to keep in mind.

Response from Annette:
I am taking this opportunity to clarify the tents behind the Cherokee Rose yurt was due to the holiday weekend...Normally no one would have tents there unless they would book yurt and site together as a small group. I regret that the family extended the tents and this was a disliking for you. The Dancin' Wolf Yurt has now been finished and is ready for reservations ---a grand opening special is rent any yurt from Nov. 1 , 2017 thru Mar.1st, 2018 = rent 2 nights get 3rd night free any day of the week...Hope to see you again! We enjoyed our Stay! Be ready for campground style accomodations including a shared bath house that does require a key code to open as well as close together sites. Not that it's a bad thing, as long as you have respectful neighbors like we did. The Yurts are really cute and we had the best river view and access in the Cherokee Rose Yurt. We also went tubing thanks to Annettes shuttle and that was a good time for sure.

Response from Annette:
So glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes I use codes due to we have easy access to roadway and I like to keep our kamp private. Although when we have groups I generally keep unlocked for convenience ---because then everyone knows everyone! Do come again---remember Nov. 1st 2017 thru Mar. 1st 2018 as grand opening of our Dancin' Wolf yurt - special is rent 2 nights in any yurt get 3rd night Free , any day of the week or month. Annette

This was my first camping trip with my son as a mom and me outing! I was beyond excited to realize how close we were to town but how far away we felt! The pictures in the listing are the views straight out of your door...AMAZING! Annette was so gracious and stopped by the campsite daily to ensure everyone was doing well and even connected us with our neighbors. The yurt was stocked with all of the modern amenities we are used to...yet a campfire right outside your door! This was a wonderful way to spend Memorial Day weekend and we will definitely be back! Two things to note for future renters...charcoal wasn't necessary for us, the firewood was plenty sufficient for cooking and enjoyment and Verizon simply has no service at this campsite ( which to be honest was a welcome surprise!)
