I prefer to greet you upon arrival, but if I am not at home, there will be a key left for you at my front door - I will send you a detailed note via airbnb's mail system!
A binder, filled with property amenities (wifi password is on the first page!), local info etc will be on the desk in your room. Your room is located on the ground floor, to the right of the entry table, when you walk in the front door.

Interaction with guests

I am always at home when guests visit! However, I lead a busy lifestyle, so we may only cross paths … hope to meet you at least once.
I am always available for questions about the South Bay, L A and things to do. Ask away!

Other things to note

It is VERY IMPORTANT that we communicate before your arrival, as the location is not clear on airbnb. You will need to follow my instructions via airbnb mail or text. THANKS!

Kim communicated promptly and was very friendly and accommodating during our stay. The room is spacious and clean with a good sized en-suite. The bed is a double size as listed in the description, so it could be cramped for 2 large or tall people, but was fine for us. We had access to the back yard where we sat and drank some wine in the evening. Thanks Kim for letting us use your fridge and wine glasses! There was a small continental breakfast with coffee, which was a great start to our day. Kim provided us with great advise on places to park when going to the beach as well as information on Universal Studios. We ordered our tickets online while we were there as Kim suggested - she printed them for us upon returning home from work. She definitely is a busy person with a busy lifestyle! The location was perfect to go to the local beach and a good distance to drive in any direction to other beaches and LA. We were very happy with our choice to stay at Kim's artistic home and would definitely stay again if traveling that direction again.

Kim's place is only about a mile away from the Hermosa boardwalk. We drove down in order to catch the sun setting on the ocean, what a sight! The location itself is in a nice residential area. We got to park next to a large rosemary bush, which was quite nice. The room is located on the first floor, just to the right of the front door. The window faces another home, but I suspect most of the housing in the area is similar. The room looked just like the photos, bright and colorful with several paintings and drawings hanging on the wall. The bathroom was especially beautiful, with an artsy So-Cal vibe. Plenty of privacy and space to store clothes and other travel items. I recommend it if you are staying in Hermosa, it was quite lovely and Kim was very communicative. Great spot!

We had a fantastic stay at Kim's place. Located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, Kim's place is a short walk to the beach (you can see the ocean from the sidewalk/street) and perfectly situated for a SoCal adventure. The house itself is spacious and nicely laid out and is decorated with all sorts of interesting artwork and artifacts from Kim's travels (loved the entryway piece, featuring a newspaper clipping of the Gun Club, an incredible, trailblazing SoCal punk band). Our private room and bath were clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with a beachy aesthetic that made perfect sense. We were very comfortable throughout our stay and it made for a very relaxing time. Plenty of things to do in the immediate area--Kim had great recommendations for places to eat--so we walked around for most of our stay and used our car sparingly. We didn't see Kim too much, but when we did, she was friendly and fun to talk to. Her dog, Lottie, was a sweetheart. We would love to return. Thanks again, Kim!

I'm a native Californian that enjoys the beach and all the fitness opportunities that offers - I could not live without a yoga workout, a walk on The Strand with my dog, a visit to my gym or a blissful hour of meditation.
I occasionally go out in the evenings and on the weekends. I love singing in my church choir but I also enjoy going to a local happy hour (there are many!). In addition, I like my quiet time at home listening to the radio, cooking, enjoying the patio and relaxing.
My home is my sanctuary and a folk art museum (or so my friends say), so I ask that my guests respect my space and honor my collection. That said, I'm clean, easy going and respectful to others. I LOVE to share my city and all that the South Bay and Los Angeles has to offer!
I have traveled the world throughout my life, starting at the tender age of four. Most recently I've visited Japan and Spain, New Orleans, Louisiana and Phoenix, Arizona. I am not a camper, but love finding quaint B&Bs and awesome hotel deals via the internet.
I look forward to meeting you!
