We discovered this excellent AirBnb unwittingly when the original one we'd booked a few weeks prior had been cancelled only a week to spare [very upsetting experience!]. With Milan Design Week and other expos/festivals happening, it was just one of a handful left in our budget + pet-friendly available at the time, and how incredibly glad we were to have chosen it over others!
Despite being a 'studio', it was just as fabulous & comfortable as the 2 bed 2 bath in Verona we had stayed in earlier. Shower was one of the best we'd used (so nice & big!), bed was super comfortable, ample room for 2 everywhere, huge windows, loads of light, a big fridge (yes - we could go crazy in supermarkets and fill it with delish Italian produce!), a piazza of parking right outside (paid, but free between 8pm-8am & all Sundays), and two very popular, late-opening café-bars (but we had no noise problem) full of young Italians from Fiorenzuola and its vicinity right at the doorstep serving excellent coffee, wine, friendliness and possibly even local friendship! Just turn right and there was a pleasant, long, cobblestoned strip lined with shops & boutiques + places to grab a bite from; the other side of AirBnb, a beautiful park and also the train station.
Fiorenzuola d'Arda is a funky little town which turned out to be an awesome base to do day trips from. Milan could be done in less than 1 hr. For the gourmands, a terrific base to discover the delectable and delightful Emilia-Romagna region!!! Pilgrimage to Cinque Terre & La Spezia was easy to do at just over 1.5 hours distance.
Last but not least, Silvia (& Vania) was truly a wonderful host - she was there for us whenever we needed assistance; ultra professional, proper and very friendly. And what Italian generosity awaited us in the fridge!
Oh, we cannot forget the coffee vending machine in the foyer available at all hours! What excellent, fresh-brew coffee (Aussie coffee snobs take note!) we had - coffee for the road in the morning, coffee for some work upon our return when not dressed to go to the dive bar around the corner... We'd be very happy to return! Grazie mille!
