The space

We are a five minute drive from the historic town of Annapolis Royal, where you will find museums, the Historic Gardens, and lots of great restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, and a theatre, to name a few. You can rent kayaks and explore the Annapolis River, or go whale watching from nearby Digby (25 min. drive). There are many attractions for the young and the retiree in the area, from The Upper Clements Theme Park (7 min. drive) to hikes along the Bay of Fundy (5 min. drive). Local festivals are also held throughout the summer and all are within a short drive of 'The Bent Family Farm'.

The two storey apartment has it's own entrance at the back of the property and a private fenced yard. We have lots of DVD's, books and games to entertain you on a rainy day. Internet access is available at the local library (5 min. drive) and in many nearby cafes. Our fully equipped kitchen comes stocked with staples, condiments, spices, coffees and teas.

Interaction with guests

We are here to greet and assist you on your arrival, and can help you become acquainted with the area. We also have a very friendly cat on the property for those liking felines.

The neighbourhood

The Bent Family Farm House is just 200 meters from the winding Annapolis River and offers both convenience to the very vibrant historic town of Annapolis Royal and the privacy and solitude of a country setting.

Town is only a comfortable bike ride away, and we are on a bus route that passes through many communities in the scenic Annapolis Valley.

Great place to stay and explore the Annapolis Royal/Digby area. Carla was a great host and the accommodation was excellent with so much character and comfort. Privacy and beautiful farm surroundings.

Quiet house with old style atmosphere. I slept so well here and it was a great launching spot for our local adventures. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and very kind.

Everything was as described....Carla and Cliff were friendly and helpful hosts. Carla even provided milk and fresh raspberries upon our arrival which was very nice! The place is spacious and quiet and close to Annapolis Royal. Only downside is lack of Wi-Fi but that's not a huge deal.

Carla and Cliff were wonderful hosts. Their place is located 5 min drive from the beautiful town of Annapolis Royal. It has a peaceful feel to it, and the garden was lovely, as was their adjoining antique shop. Carla was great with communication in the lead up to our stay. They were present when we arrived and showed us around the place. The place had all amenities in the kitchen. Upstairs was a spacious bathroom and bedroom. The kids were able to sleep on a mattress downstairs. Thank you for accommodating us!

Carla and Cliff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome but never intruded on our vacation. Before we arrived they had added a few essentials to the fridge and some delicious treats from the farm's garden. The flat is privately situated beside the main family home, and is tastefully appointed with vintage furniture. Its position on the highway made it a great base for exploring this part of Nova Scotia. This heritage property has been well maintained and fitted with a clean look and modern conveniences: we always had hot water and never felt like the great outdoors were infiltrating the flat. We visited during glorious summer weather so I can't speak to how it feels when the nights get chilly.

Carl's apartment on the homestead was awesome! There was so much space and it was so well decorated and cozy. They provided games, movies, and food staples which were much appreciated! We also enjoyed having the company of Pedro, the friendly cat, and the green barn antiques and ecogifts to explore. I'd definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to friends if they are ever in the area.

Nice bedroom on 2nd floor, with bath also. Nice & roomy. My 6-foot tall son was able to sleep well on the sofa. Carla allowed us to use the washer & dryer also. Downtown was an easy drive, the gardens, the fort, etc. Carla left us some fresh strawberries in the refrig, coffee, etc and she even asked for suggestions for improvements. She has an interesting business going there also, all kinds of antiques & collectibles in the barn (especially mid-century modern). One thing missing, but probably not for long since we informed her, was screens on the windows, allowing us to open them at night for a breeze. Otherwise, great stay!
