Please disregard this 1 star review on an otherwise 5 star listing. Personally we avoid criticising guests because we do not believe it is in good taste but Sandra and her husband Michael were terrible guests - rude, disrespectful, ungrateful. It is important to mention that - they extended their original 2 week stay 5 times to a 7 week stay - so it is hard to believe it was as terrible as they make it out. We as Superhost SA bent over backwards to accommodate them: We arranged a larger parking bay within 4 hours of their arrival to accommodate their oversized vehicle, we dropped off an additional heater when they complained they were cold, we cancelled another booking (with great hassle with Airbnb) to accommodate ANOTHER extension because they indicated what a hassle it would be to move again with all their belongings before moving into their home. Regardless, we would like to address the issues they flagged without going into detail of the hassles they gave us: (1) The listing is as cold as any property we manage. Because of this an oil heater is provided which quickly heats any room in about 30 mins. There is also underfloor heating in the bathrooms and entrance foyer. (2) We provided what we consider a normal amount of electricity for a property of this size but Sandra and Michael insisted on leaving the underfloor heating and oil heater on all day, consuming over R1,000 electricity in 4 days when they were only paying R500 a night. (3) We would argue that Michael got sick not because of the apartment but because he insisted on walking around in his underwear (or at least that was what he was wearing when we visited the apartment) in the middle of a Cape Town winter.
