These comfortable rooms are part of a 300-year-old detached stone house in the rural Tuscan wilderness. They feature internet access as well as parking and laundry facilities.
The house and its rooms have been decorated to preserve its original rustic charm. 2 bedrooms contain 3 comfortable double beds and feature exposed wooden beams. A well-equipped kitchen is available for use as well as a panoramic terrace.
The rooms are situated on the first floor of a detached stone house in southern Tuscany (Grosseto Province) in rural secluded wilderness. It is over 300 years old and has since come back to, and expanded.
It was always careful to preserve its ancient, rustic charm and to have the technical innovations with which the house is equipped (Central European comfort) look authentic.
Two spacious bedrooms with queen-size beds plus single beds each are awaiting my guests. In one of the rooms in addition there is a huge bunk bed with window to look at the stars. WC on the same floor, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor.
Maremma (southern Tuscany - plain area around Grosseto) offers a wide range of highlights - thousands of years old cultivated landscape since Etruscan era as well as untouched wilderness and a tourist infrastructure with italian flair, water, the famous "rolling hills", agricultural land and woods.
On top of the hills in the Maremma-hinterland - the house is situated on the first hill chain with view to the plain and the sea - many small and sound medioeval villages are to be discovered. The is no lack of tourist destinations like the tyrrhenean beach, picturesque villages, a bathing lake or the offshore islands. Excursions to the past are great to combine with walking tours.
Maremma is Etruscan country and has a long tradition of mining and metallurgy - since the Etruscan era. Archaeological sites and former mines can be visited and accompanied by guided tours, also in English language. Discovering the story of the mysterious, pleasure-loving Etruscan people is very rewarding. An equal position of man and woman after all was an exception in the ancient world.
The surrounding towns and medioeval villages offer the picturesque scenery for public festivals in summer with gastronomic contests and donkey races, concerts and exhibitions.
Public transportation by bus is well-performing, however, buses do not run very often. Guests prefer the arrival by (plane and) car, preferably flights to Pisa and then rent a car.
The property is accessed via a dirt road for 1km. Attention: Nothing for low riders.
