Built in the 1800s, Sal's Place is a former Captains home located on the Annapolis River. Centrally located to all local amenities, from gas stations, antique stores, historic sites, restaurants and of course the Town of Annapolis Royal. Come visit the world famous tidal power plant... using nature to generate power. The home is also located on the oldest road known in North America... Granville Road. See you soon! Offering soon Air Miles Reward Miles!!

The space

I have a tastefully decorated bedroom with all the amenities. Fresh linens adorn a comfortable bed. A mini fridge is located in the room stocked with bottled water. Additionally, you have your own television for private viewing to catch up on news and follow your favourite programming while your away. Other amenities include, towels, face cloths, soap, shampoo and the emergency hygiene products left at home such as toothbrushes and paste.

Guest access

As a guest I want you to feel comfortable, a home away from home, feel free to wonder around. Travelling with children, let me know, I have a child friendly room (not suitable for infants) that is available separately... please inquire. While smoking is prohibited in the house, smoking is welcome outside on the deck. I do enjoy an occasional cigar too!

Interaction with guests

Not sure where to go or what to do upon arrival, feel free to ask away... lots of things to do locally.... just awaiting on you! Ask me for an arranged personal tour of the local area attractions. Looking for restaurant recommendations again ask away! While I'm not obligated, I will offer a complimentary breakfast. I have a chicken coop and fresh eggs are a guarantee from my hens.

Other things to note

While I'm not a visitor center, I do have a few dozen brochures/pamphlets of the most popular attractions on site for you to peruse and have. When possible you will always be invited to share a dining experience with me here in my home. The culinary arts has always been a passion of mine, bring the wine and pull up a chair! Need a Canada's National Park pass.. ask me.. free admission to the parks this year celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday!

Don't have too many of those pesky house rules, other than respect quiet times from 11 pm through 8 am. And, the biggie here... don't let the cat out, regardless of what he, known affectionately as "Buddy", tells you! Buddy is a adult Lynx Point Siamese, supposedly non allergenic, well so far... he loves attention and will be sure to greet you right away upon your arrival! Please enjoy our hospitality. While we don't include meals, it is often customary to invite you to join us for breakfast and or other daily meals.

Sal is amazing. A wonderful host, warm, welcoming, talkative, and ready to supply your every need. He even tracked down a local mechanic who could fix my car brakes in a hurry. Don't miss him, he is a national treasure!

A perfectly located warm and welcoming home was where we spent three days while touring the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Sal had a delicious dinner waiting for us upon our arrival which was beyond expectation and truly appreciated. He and his lovely friend June took us on a wine tour and we got to imbibe without worrying about driving. Sal is a truly unique and wonderful individual who takes care of his guests like family. Definitely recommend Sal's place.

Hi and Welcome to Sal's Place....and I'm OPEN all year round! I'm Stephen, better known as Sal. I am a recent retiree and veteran from Calgary, Alberta. I settled here in the summer of 2014 and have been hosting my friends and family ever since at my home. I am very social by nature and love to entertain. Cooking is one of my greatest joys and by request, I can cook for you too! My home is open to all.... and filled often with laughter and life! Come spend a night or two and let me make your stay here in the Annapolis Valley just a bit more memorable!
