Salty Rose's and the Periwinkle Café is located in Ingonish on the famous and beautiful Cabot Trail. Our charming rooms are nestled above a bustling art & craft shop/café and in walking distance of two stunning beaches. We are close to many hikes and are also near other restaurants and local shops. There is even a goat farm next door! Come to stay in our quaint rooms and sleep with the sea breezes.

The space
This unique, charming and retro apartment is as sweet as can be. It overlooks our front yard and boasts amazing views of the ocean and Ingonish Island. Enjoy your own cute kitchenette and stylish en suite bathroom. It features a firm pillow top queen bed, 100% cotton linens and a lamb's wool duvet. The light colours and sea breezes create a tranquil place to rest your head. Perfect for close friends and even better for couples or honeymooners.

During your stay
With your safety and ease in mind, self check-in instructions will be provided prior to your stay. When we are open (9 am - 5pm Thursday through Monday) friendly staff will be available to greet you and make sure you have a everything you need. We are happy to share all our local knowledge and recommendations with you, just ask!

Other things to note
~Our cafe opens a 9 am and thus there will be people about the property from that point on. We try to keep sound levels low and slow in the morning but please be aware that there will inherently be some noise from the cafe/shop after opening.
~We are looking forward to developing a live music program this year and thus you might get to take in a show if you stay with us on a weekend night this season! Music will always end no later than 10 pm.

We are so lucky to be situated in this beautiful, rural area surrounded by the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You do not need to purchase a 'Park Pass' to reach us but we do encourage a pass if you are going to be hiking and exploring the many beaches and lakes within the park. We are just minutes away from a small grocery store. Also there are two convenience stores, a liquor store and a Scotia Bank in town. If you are travelling in spring or late fall we recommend that you come well prepared or do your research as shops often start to close earlier in the day and restaurants may close early for the season.

We are cousins, best friends and business partners. We love life, beautiful handmade things, good coffee, fine food and drink and time with family and friends. We are proud of our island upbringing and still like to frolick through the berry and flower fields of our youth. Our inspiration comes from the sea, the sun and each other :)
