Bakers Cottage is a cosy, recently renovated throughout, 17th Century, Grade II Listed, Cotswold stone cottage . Set in the heart of Minchinhampton village, with a beautiful original inglenook fireplace and lots of charm. Minchinhampton is surrounded by fantastic National Trust countryside for walking, golf (Minchinhampton golf course), riding, biking, chilling in a pub or cafe locally. In the summer months the farmers are allowed to graze their cows and horses on the common, so they roam free.

The space
Bakers Cottage is my cosy little Grade II listed home in the pretty village of Minchinhampton. There is a local shop, fantastic pub owned by ‘The Lucky Onion’ group, tea rooms, organic dairy/coffee shop, Taylors butchers, hair and beauty salons, Boots chemist, Post Office and a few little shops. There are an abundance of pubs to walk or cycle to depending on how far you like to travel. If you are looking to go further afield the a couple of miles away is Nailsworth, Stroud (famous for its Farmers Market), Tetbury (famous for its antique shops) and slightly further afield is Cirencester, Cheltenham (famous for the Cheltenham Gold Cup) and Bath.

Bakers Cottage has just been newly renovated and was my home for many years. It has so much charm and is a happy cottage.
Walking through the stable door you enter the sitting room, with its exposed wooden floor, a rug to keep your feet warm, an inglenook fireplace with a cast iron log burning stove. There is a lovely stone mullion window with a window seat to watch the world (cows and horses included!) go by; a two seater sofa and two arm chairs. The flat screen TV is mounted on the wall and there is a CD player under the stairs along with a DVD player and board games. There is free WIFI available.

The stairs, leading to the first and second floors, are nice and wide, not steep, and have a banister. Please note that this is a little cottage so mind your head as you go up to the top bedroom which, as seen in the photos, is open with no door to shut it off.

The cottage kitchen is fully equipped with a four ring electric hob, oven, fridge with freezer section, a microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen table is a drop leaf which, in the kitchen sits 3 people, but once set up in the sitting room will sit 4 people (it has had 8 guests round it I've been told!!!!)

Just off the kitchen is the utility room; which has a washing machine, a separate tumble dryer and a place to hang your coats and pop your shoes/wellies. There is a door out onto the private courtyard which has a table and four chairs and steep narrow steeps leading to the garden.

PLEASE NOTE that I have a Gas Safe Certificate done every year for my cottage which means my boiler is serviced and complies with regulations and I also have my chimney swept by a registered chimney sweep once or twice a year depending on if it needs it.

Guest access
You have access to the whole cottage! Parking is free and 'on street' either just up the road from Bakers Cottage or slightly further along by the allotments. There is a key safe box to the side of the cottage and I will send you the access code so you can arrive at your leisure.

Other things to note
The Woodburner is for wood only and doesn't take coal. A basket of logs are provided in the winter months to get us started, along with kindling and firefighters.

Princess Anne's Gatcombe Estate, home of the famous horse trial is located on the very edge of Minchinhampton.

There are many activities to do in the area and see. Riding, Walking, Cycling, Golf, Kite flying on the Common or site seeing. Below are some places you may like to visit when your here:
