Interaction with guests
I am available by phone but not always on the Island.
Lots of brochures for tourist sites are in a folder on the table.
If there is anything in particular you want to see or do, please let me know beforehand so that I can help you arrange it.
Other things to note
Phillip Island is a rural community of around 7000 thousand people.
It is 140kms from Melbourne by road. Public transport and taxis are available but not necessarily convenient way to travel around. A car or bike (motor or cycling) is ideal.
Contact me to book during motor racing times.
In general, pets are allowed but let's talk about it first. There is a generous fenced in area with a kennel available too.
A few other rules of the house:
Not suitable (nor available!) for hosting parties.
It's most suited to those who appreciate a quieter life.
(Cowes is just down the road for everyone else).
Working in Melbourne as a TV EP, I look forward to escaping to the island whenever time permits. Long walks along the beautiful wild coastline in winter. Kayaking, swimming and surfing in the warmer months.
Phillip Island is well known world wide for its wildlife and there is no shortage in Rhyll. Facing east and looking over Western Port Bay towards Churchill Island, the fishing hamlet of Rhyll is one of the most relaxing places on the island.
The General Store, Foreshore Tavern and Coffee shop are all within walking distance. Along with the beautiful Conservation Hill and Rhyll Inlet Walk, the Rhyll Yacht Club, Anglers Club and jetty for a spot of fishing. You might even see a seal. Churchill Island, Woollami, the Race Track, Wineries, Seal Rocks and of course the penguins are all within 15-30mins drive.
The accommodation is downstairs with its own entrance to the right of the property. The keysafe is located near the front door. Electric heating. Indoor and outdoor dining areas. Roomy kitchen with dishwasher, electric hot plates, convection microwave oven (NO oven) and electric slow cooker. Comfy, self contained, well equipped and well located.
Rhyll is a little oasis by the sea and I'm very happy to be able to share my home away from home with you.
Why don't you book a few nights and enjoy all that the island has to offer?
