We truly enjoyed our 6 night stay in Mljet and it was the highlight of our 16 day Croatia trip. The house is beautiful and has all of the amenities needed for our group of 4. It is in a very quiet small village set within the National Park. You can easily drive (or bike or walk) to one of the main park entrances. We were warmly welcomed by Marta who took the time to show us her property and to provide suggestions of things to do, places to go etc. All her recommendations turned out to be to our liking and she is very knowledgable about the island and happy to share her feelings about the points of interest. She lives in the house next door and her physical presence on-site was a plus for us. She is always available and willing to provide anything you need. We had the privilege of being invited to her neighbouring house for apéritif one evening with her family (husband Niko, her children Lea and Lovro and her mother-in-law Baba) where they served us their homemade grappa and cheese. It was most pleasant. Rather than doing a day-trip to Mljet from the mainland (what most people seem to do) we decided to settle on Mljet to be able to truly experience this beautiful island at a leisurely pace. We enjoyed it so much we cancelled our plans for a day-trip to Dubrovnik to spend more time in Mljet. There are no regrets and we will definitely return. Thanks to Marta and her family for making this a memorable experience.

Marta's home on Mljet was perfect for our stay- it was beautifully located (a reasonable walk from the lakes) and we loved staying there! She was traveling during our stay, but called to make sure we were ok, gave great recommendations and her husband made sure we had everything's we needed! I'd recommend this home to anyone (it is a bit remote, which we LOVED)- you really get a sense of the area but if you are looking to be very close to shops and restaurants, it may not be the right fit for you. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely fantastic villa!! Suited our two couples perfectly and there were great cooking facilities. The house is an easy walk to both lakes. Marta is a wonderful lady who will make your stay very enjoyable. Will definitely be looking to come back and stay here again one day!

Lovely little cottage in a very quiet village - perfect for a chilled stay. We loved our time here but unfortunately had to leave the island early due to storms.

This is a beautiful location and a well equiped, small house that was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 3 grown-up teenagers. The two main bedrooms have good sized double beds, and the loft room also has a double matress on a wooden frame which was perfectly comfortable. We hired a car for just one day so we could go to Odysseus' Cave. The rest of the time we hired 2 bikes which we took turns to use, and otherwise walked to the lake or town. Marta was very helpful and drove us to the supermarket our first day (which is tiny but stocks enough to get by!) - and also offered to collect any provisions if we had needed anything. We were keen to try to manage without a car but the terrain is hilly so whether you are cycling or walking you will need to be quite fit to get about without a car. Hire cars are reasonably priced (don't expect much for your money though!!). This is such a peaceful place and great for unwinding. There are amazing walks and cycles, you can hire kayaks and snorkel (don't forget to bring swim-shoes because there are sea urchins). The verandah is lovely and we sat out from early morning with the sun coming up over the hill. The evenings can be a bit trickier with mozzies - but still lovely. We will definitely come back - we had an amazing holiday!
