The Bellfire Tipi is located in the Meeker Hollow - one of the best places for stargazing in NY State, on our 10 acre property bordering state land and miles of forest. We designed the Tipi and chose the location very carefully with privacy and tranquility in mind. The Tipi is located 500 ft from the farm house, nestled between a seasonally running creek, maple trees and wild flower field. June & July are full blown lightning bug season - don't miss it!

The space

In case of rain - the smoke flaps can be handled and closed over the top of the tipi to ensure that no rain gets in. You will get a short tutorial upon arrival.
Camping Shower - there is a camping shower behind the tipi
The Outhouse - features a wash station and a composting toilet.
There is no electricity at the Tipi - for ambience, candles and camping lanterns are provided. There is a solar phone charger as well.

The Bellfire Tipi is an 18ft dream and perfect place for a comfortable and unique getaway. Custom made furniture, wool carpets, cedar floors and handmade decor pieces have been carefully curated to create a space that is meditative, relaxing and practical. There is undeniable magic in sitting around a bonfire inside a Tipi and listening to the stream and each other and waking up to the sounds of the wind and birds singing.

There's no doubt that the Sioux Indian created an incredible structure that served as their home year round. We were inspired by their creativity and innovation and took it up a notch to create a space that serves the modern needs as well.

includes camping stove, tea kettle, ceramic coffee dripper, mugs, plates, silverware, saucer, pan, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, kitchen utensils, drinking water.

Outside the Tipi
there is a stone fire pit with seating, a charcoal grill, and an extra wide hammock.

The outhouse
was designed and built by us with reclaimed barn wood and cedar roofing. It features a composting toilet and wash station and is located about 50 feet from the Tipi.

Guest access

The Bellfire Tipi is located 500 feet from the main farmhouse. The lush green meadow and forest creates a perfect hideaway. You leave your car in our parking lot and walk about 2 minutes to the Tipi site.

Our property is bordering State land, you are free to hike and explore the miles and miles of forest surrounding the tipi.

For free wifi access you are welcome to come relax on our patio.

Interaction with guests

We are here to assist you with all your needs. If you feel so inclined, come check out our organic garden and pick a few fresh goodies for your dinner.

Other things to note

The Bellfire Farm and Tipi are located at about 1900 ft elevation - even summer nights can get chilly, please bring warm clothes.

There is usually some wood for a campfire outside the Tipi but we encourage you to bring your own as well.

Beautiful spot for relaxing, cooking, a short distance to hiking, and taking in all the Catskills has by any mode of transport. Mina and Rich are gracious hosts. I booked it for a unique and relaxing spot not too far from Cooperstown for induction weekend. Perfect!

The Bellfire Tipi is truly an unique experience. Cooking outdoors is always fun, the wash house building is the cleanest ever, and the basics are supplied so the planning is simple. We'll be back for more fun!

What a wonderful time away - the Tipi is lovely and well equipped with all you might need for a bit of camping. And Mina is a wonderful host, providing a helpful guide before you arrive, and is around if you need anything (or not if you prefer). We will definitely be back, and we strongly recommend others take the time to visit - Tipi's are magical and this one is one of the best. Beyond worth it.
