Central Abaco, Bahamas

Far removed from the hustle and bustle of Nassau and Freeport, the Abacos are known as the Out-Islands. This is the best place in The Bahamas for your holidays on a fully crewed sailboat!

Located in the northeastern Bahamas, Great Abaco Island and a string of barrier islands form over 130 square miles of the protected, clear, aquamarine waters known as the Sea of Abaco.

Nathalie is from France, from a small city near Lyon where food is what life is all about! Maybe that's where her passion for cooking comes from. She went to different universities where she got her BS in Economic Sciences, her BS in Tourism and her MS in Sports Management which led her to a professional career in Monaco as a manager for the International Association of Athletics Federations dealing with World Championships for 10 years. Being trilingual in French, English and Spanish, she travelled to 40 countries all around the world and then decided to change her life by moving to Canada for a year before sailing south with Eric in 2007. Her love of the ocean could not find a better place to go on with her diving experience and become a PADI Instructor. She has logged more than 200 dives in her underground playground in the Sea of Abaco. One of her passions is underwater photography: she takes incredible underwater pictures as you can see on the website. Apart from diving, Nathalie has always loved cooking and her cuisine is strongly inspired and influenced by her French heritage mixed with creole and Bahamian styles. All guests love what she prepares as she brings many new flavors to the table and no one wants to miss a meal on board Dream Ketcher! All her cooking is prepared from scratch and in season, she also has her own herb garden on board including basil, parsley, dill and chives...maybe that's the reason for her success??! Not only does she love cooking but she always presents dishes at their best so that not only do guests relish the wonderful aromas, their eyes too enjoy the feast, before their taste buds are pampered. Her aim is for guests to live a dream during their holidays, having nothing to do but to relax in their cabin or on deck with a cocktail in hand, ensuring that sceneries above and below sea level meet and exceed their expectations, bringing special ambiance around the table so that everybody can share unforgettable moments on board. Eric was born in Quebec, Canada, and moved almost 40 times in his life, living on both side of the ocean, and from eastern to western Canada. This gave him the opportunity to become bilingual, he speaks fluently French and English. What he got from his youth is a love of nature and outdoor activities as he spent most of his summer holidays on a wild island of the St-Laurent River. He was involved in sports at school and had fun being a decathlete. From there came his passion for event management and teaching. He organized sporting events all around Québec and Ontario provinces within central Canada and then moved to Europe for several years where his position gave him the opportunity to travel in more than 30 countries and 5 continents. He moved back for a few years in western Canada and then he decided to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a 35ft boat from France to Martinique followed by an extensive stay in the Caribbean Sea. From this crossing, he got a love for open water and the intention to live aboard a sailboat all year around. Since his youth, he has always been on sailboats, enjoying the ambiance on different lakes, rivers, and seas allowing him to log more than 13,000 nautical miles. He bought his first keel boat 20 years ago (even before buying his first car) when he was living on the French Riviera in France. Since then he has always had a boat, getting a new one at each place he moved. Eric has also sailed on more than 25 different sailboats in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean seas, all over Canada and France, USA, Spain and South Africa. He is always happy to share his knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for sailing with all guests. Eric has been a recognized Canadian Yachting Association and International Charter Sailing Organization Sailing Instructor for years; he also holds a Bahamian Captain's Master A license. Being an epicurean, with a special love for cheese and wines, one of his passions is to every evening proudly set the table for dinner on the nicely designed cockpit table with all the tableware you can imagine using during your meal! Eric's priority is to bring fun and joy on board for all guests so that they have an unforgettable time!
