Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Two bedrooms, plus common hallway with a mini-kitchenette suitable for warming items. Each room has a double + upper twin bunk bed. The south facing Winder Room overlooks Stuart Channel and the north-facing Ardan Room looks onto a xeriscape garden.

The day can begin with fresh ground coffee and self-serve breakfast, then an extraordinary time exploring the rugged shoreline, artisan studios, markets, restaurants and more! Later, relax in the hot tub with a glass of wine and quite time.

The space
Both rooms give you the effect of staying in a treehouse without all the climbing and discomfort. The beds are comfortable and have heated pads. Each bed has a wall lamp for reading and there are adequate plug ins for your electronic devices. There are two shelves and hangars for your clothes and a place to put your luggage. Towels are provided. In between is an equipped kitchenette area featuring a black and white Mexican Telavera ceramic sink. A toaster oven, kettle, tea pots and coffee maker cover your drink and snack needs and a self-serve breakfast bar is available in the dining room or out on the ocean view deck in the morning at a time you choose. The kitchenette is suitable for snacks or warming up "take-away" restaurant items. It's not meant for preparing full meals. There is a one-piece composting toilet close to the room, as well a full shared bathroom with shower across the house. See the "Floor-plan" in the Photos. Just a wonderful space designed with budget travelers or families in mind!

Guest access
You have a shared bathroom across the house lit by nightlights. You have access to the Host's kitchen breakfast bar and dining room table only in the mornings, and the outside decks anytime. There is an outdoor hot tub and outdoor shower down at water's edge that can be used by all guests. Secure on-site parking is close to the main house.

Other things to note
As you can see on the floor-plan of the house (see in Photos), the bathroom for these rooms is across the house. In addition there is a composting toilet just outside the door of the suite. There are multiple night lights in the hallway for safety.
There is a private back entrance door to this suite that doesn't require walking through the main house. The front door of the house is fitted with a door code lock. You will be provided with the code upon arrival.
Doggie owners - kindly plan to leave an extra $10 on the table. We have to clean the whole house after your pet's visit in case another guest has allergies. (It has happened, and is serious!)
We've found our home does not work well for little people. For toddlers or others under 6 years old, the site is quite dangerous. Rocks, waterfront, steep slope and funky art pieces everywhere all contribute to dangers. And, since we're not a hotel with concrete walls, the cries of a little one are heard throughout the house.
And a reminder that there is no facility for food preparation. We offer a kitchenette only for warming up take-out food items. (Heck - this is one step beyond Air Bed-and-"Breakfast"!) Of course the self-serve breakfast is provided.
We do require ~ quiet conversation only ~ on the property (decks, parking, hot tub, etc) after 10PM.

It always seems to work, and we look forward to your stay!!

Location

Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada

This is the north west part of the island about 12 minutes away from Ganges Village. There is a small coffee shop nearby and beside the Vesuvius Ferry Terminal there is a Seaside Grill for great fish and chips, ice cream, and full meals in their restaurant or on their deck over the water. (dinner reservations recommended). In between Vesuvius Bay and Ganges is the famous Fritz Cinema, the Gulf Island's only cinema screening first run movies nightly at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. We will have over 50 studios with local art, crafts and food specialities. An Art Studio Tour map is available for you upon arrival. Don't miss the SSI cheese places!
The neighbourhood is quiet and we need to respect that.
