Gingerhill Farm welcomes you to five acres of organic orchards and lush gardens nestled just above famous Kealakekua Bay. We offer beauty and serenity mere minutes away from local restaurants, cafes and shops. Incredible ocean and sunset views.

The space

Complete with bathroom, kitchen and outdoor shower, our Garden Cottage offers the independence of a cozy, private cabin nestled above the gardens. Relax on the deck in the evenings as you enjoy breathtaking images of the sun setting over the Pacific.

Guest access

Take a stroll through our gardens and then marvel at the sunset from one of various scenic decks. Hike down to Kealakekua Bay and swim with the Dolphins. Gingerhill Farm offers an exotic escape from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living.

Other things to note

In our commitment to promoting transparency we would like to say that there is more to sustainable agriculture than whether you use chemical fertilizer or organic pellets. Here at Gingerhill Farm we heed our role as stewards of the land and commit to practices which improve the health of our acreage year after year. This means we spray no insecticides or herbicides. It also means that in Hawaii, a subtropical island, we experience intervals of mosquito or termite pressure. Resonant Coqui frogs, native to Puerto Rico, sing at night and sound like crickets. We consider these players as part of our ecosystem, and strive to maintain a balance. Our grounds are beautiful and fertile, partly tamed and partly wild. We ask that guests understand these dynamics and book accordingly.

Gingerhill Farms and the Garden Cottage are a blissful place to stay full of delicious organic fruits and lush green vegetation. We LOVED our stay, slept wonderfully and ate well. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric kettle and a blender and a gas stove with sautee pans and plenty of silverware. We loved the fact that we could cook and eat outside! Would definitely stay here again!

The Garden Cottage was gorgeous with a breathtaking ocean view. It's surrounded by coffee plants and trees and very close to the amazing Kealakekua Bay. The space was clean and cozy, we stayed two nights with three guests and had a wonderful time.

This was my second stay at the Garden Cottage. Great little spot. Secluded and peaceful, among the farm that Zach & Iris, and their family, have built.

Perfect studio cabin for a couple of small, close family. Secluded and quiet spot. Well decorated and clean. Very much like the traditional Hawaiian houses of the early 1900s, with kitchen and bathroom outside. My wife & I stayed here with our two kids (2yo and 4mo), and we loved it. The sounds of the jungle all night put the kids right to sleep:) There is even Wifi if you need it.

We had an amazing stay at the garden cottage. The view and overall atmosphere is absolutely stunning! We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and shower as well. There were some mosquitos and cockroaches, but we expected that since we are in Hawaii. Hearing all of the sounds of nature every night was pretty incredible. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Our stay was really nice and the location was beautiful!. Being that the cottage is basically in the Hawaiian jungle there were a TON of mosquitos in the outside kitchen-- fortunately, they did not bother us once we were inside. Bring bug spray and apply it liberally!! Finally, if you are a hotel person and do not like bugs, critters, or a cacophony of signing nocturnal frogs, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you are more of an outdoorsy type, or are willing to deal with all that mother nature provides, you will be handsomely rewarded with a beautiful and quiet cottage surrounded by an amazingly lush off the beaten path Hawaiian jungle.
