The location was just what we wanted - island life, pretty isolated, few other tourists and very peaceful. You have to walk about one kilometer from the ferry port to get there, all the way along the sea. The apartment is directly next to the water with a little concrete boat pier in front of it where you can sunbathe or jump into the water, and a slightly bigger (rocky) beach some 300 meters away, where you'll also find a small grocery store. At the port you have a bigger supermarket that has meat, veggies, fresh bread and all the other things you may want. For longer stays, just take the ferry over to Zadar and shop there.
The apartment itself was tidy and modern. We did miss having a toaster and an electric water kettle, but you can make due with the gas oven for both of those things. Personally, I think the size is best for 3-4 people. You get one big room that serves as the living room, dining room and kitchen with enough space to not step on each others' feet and two bedrooms. Air conditioning is also available, though with the sea breeze coming through the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom windows (beautiful sea view included), you won't really need it all that much.
The restaurants in the area mostly serve the same things - sea food and meat dishes. The meat was great, always fresh and well prepared. Estimate around 15€ per person with a drink included, if you're gonna have fish, it might get a bit more expensive. I definitely recommend going to Zadar to get some variety. Check out "crazy pizza" in the old town, we had pizza slices the size of a regular Italian pizza that were delicious for 1,70€ each. If you're mostly going to cook yourself, take some spices with you. The prices in the supermarkets for the basic food items are not all that different from those in central Europe, which is quite alright for an island and its transfer costs and whatnot.
Our host was great, she was there within minutes when we arrived a bit early. Friendly, speaks fluently English (being an English teacher helps), and has a lot of good advice if you don't know where to start. She also dropped us off at the airport on our way back, despite it being 6am, which we were really grateful for. That's a 22€ trip by taxi right there, and if you ask in advance she can also pick you up when you first arrive. So yeah, completely unproblematic, we enjoyed our stay and would easily recommend it to others.
