You’ll have the townhouse to yourself.
I am close to Granville Island, Kits beach, and downtown. I'm close to buses, great restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. I am on a bike route. You’ll love my place because, although centrally located, it's quiet. The view of downtown Vancouver and North Shore Mountains from the living room and balcony is fabulous. You can walk in 5 minutes to Granville Island Market and False Creek. My place is sunny and bright, good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families.

The space
My space was renovated and completely repainted in March 2016. All appliances are new. My balcony has barbecue and bar table and chairs. There are hard wood floors throughout my place. The master and the small bedroom both have full ensuite bathrooms. There is a half bathroom upstairs. The unit has west windows and is really bright.

Guest access
It's all yours! People living in this complex are really pleasant, friendly, and easy going.

Other things to note
I have an underground parking spot that you can use during your stay. There is a great coffee shop and small breakfast restaurant half a block away. As well, about 2.5 blocks due west of my place is a restaurant called Salad de Fruit. Really good little French restaurant. Very casual, good service, and great people if you are like me and want to practice your French occassionaly.

This is an amazing neighbourhood because you can access Vancouver on foot or bike from here. (I don't need a car to live here though I have one as I need to travel for my work). For example, my street is a bike route. If you walk or bike four blocks east you come to a walk-over that takes you right over busy streets and down to the water at False Creek on a foot/bike path. From false creek you can walk along the entire Seawall for dozens of miles either all the way to Stanley Park or in the other direction towards UBC. You can also go to Granville Island, 5 minutes walk, where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, shop for food, and you can take the little ferries that ply the waters of False Creek. If you want to go in the other direction, you can access Granville Street. This region, called South Granville, has art galleries, coffee shops, book stores, restaurants, and great clothing stores. If you want to go downtown you can walk 1.5 blocks to Granville Street and hop a bus. It will take you 5 minutes by bus to get to the heart of downtown Vancouver. There are lovely gardens everywhere around here so you can't not enjoy walking around.

I'm a professor. I travel alot for work and pleasure. I like it when good people stay in my space. I am very active intellectually and physically. I'm an engaged, open, positive person. My space reflects this as it is bright, welcoming and has a great view. It's also clean and without clutter as I don't like mess and unecessary stuff in a place. I love good food. My love of food is reflected in a well equipped kitchen (newly renovated with all new appliances). I speak French a little bit. I love reading and I write alot both for work and I also write fiction (mainly reflective short stories). When younger I lived in London, UK. Did my O and A levels in London. Came to Vancouver in the mid-1970s and been here since, but with lots of travel in between, since then. I really value being out doors and there is no better place in the world, as far as I've seen, where you can easily access beautiful and wild nature. When I first came to Vancouver it was small and sleepy. But, now, it feels like an exciting mid-sized city with all the good things that urban life can offer. I get outside alot into the wilderness areas on my sailboat which I keep moored in Vancouver. I sail up into the Southern portion of the Great Bear Rainforest, located along BC's mainland coast about 300 kilomters or so north of here. It's the most wild and amazing place and you can find (grizzlies, whales, wolves, cougars- I've seen them all). Even close to Vancouver, on the North Shore mountains you can access rugged wilderness and see wildlife. This city is unusual with its combination of urban and absoute wilderness at your fingertips. I enjoy it all and hope you will see at least some of this when you visit.

During your stay
Yes, I can be available to meet you and help out with anything you might need. I've lived here 40 years so know the city and entire region really well. Also, I sail and I've spent alot of time in the outdoors in BC and so can advise you really well in this regard.
