My home is a spacious, comfortable, light-filled studio apartment in the East Village. Only a block to Tompkins Square Park and steps away from the best coffee, restaurants, bars, and off-Broadway theaters in NYC (just ask New York Magazine). You'll enjoy having an uncluttered private space all to yourself, with a full kitchen that has everything you need to cook a meal.

Rick's place is in a fantastic location, with a genuine feel of real New York. A good space for two peopl. The bus stop outside connects with local transport hubs, so ideally placed to explore New York with a metro card. Sadly didn't get to meet Lois the resident cat as Rick had …

Rick's place was perfect for us and exactly as advertised. We didn't get to meet Lois (his cat), but the apartment was very clean and obviously well kept. If it were not for the small cat tree, you wouldn't know he even had a cat. The location was great, with lots of restauran…

Rick was great, easy and quick to communicate. He checked in with us to make sure we got in okay and that the apartment was fine. The apartment is adorable, clean and artistic. The location in East Village was fun and vibrant. We would definitely stay here again.

Honestly this was the worst travel experience I have had in my life. I lost the one set of keys provided, it was difficult to contact our "host", there was no back up plan for lost keys, it was many hours before we could get back in (more then 9 hours), and then it cost both of u…

Response from Rick:
It seems there were some expectations about Airbnb rentals that should have been clarified before using the service. Unfortunately, I cannot be available to guests 24 hours a day. As a result of this experience, spare keys are now more easily available to guests who lock themselves out or, in a worst case scenario, completely lose them. Rick is actually my real name (I go by both my first and middle names), and I'll gladly provide proof to anyone who books with me. If you would like additional context on Wade's visit, feel free to message me privately.

Rick's apartment was very cozy and his cat, Lois, was extremely sweet. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day of sight seeing in the city. I would definitely stay here again!

East Village/Alphabet City is still a place where everyday people live, and it still retains much of its renown charm and grittiness. We loved Ricks neighborhood..several community parks nearby, conveniences, and few tourists. Seemed very safe and locals were friendly

I'm currently in grad school for a second career in social work. I love my apartment and neighborhood and am excited to share it with visitors to NYC.
