I got in touch with Mark to request a stay for my son who was arriving in Australia just 48 hours after my request for a booking. Mark was immediately available and communicative. He was extremely helpful in providing great public transit directions for my son to travel from the airport to Mark's home. My son advises the following about his stay: "Mark was a welcoming host with a lovely home in the heart of St. Kilda. He had insight into the city and was quick to help me find a place to live permanently. He maintains a very clean home."

Mark is a great host, very helpful, discreet and very concerned that his guests enjoy their stay. Impeccably clean apartment, close to St Kilda beach & Acland St restos, bars & oh so sinful bakeries. 2 minute walk to the tram line that takes you to the city. Loved it!

The apartment is clean and the bed is comfortable. St. Kilda is about 20 minutes from the city centre via tram, and there are some nice cafes in the area. Mark is also quite knowledgeable about Melbourne, and has a number of tourist guidebooks available for his guests. Please note though, that at the time of my stay, only a limited internet connection was available. Mark is very particular about people not (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)ing through his internet connection.

Response from Mark:
Thankyou Adnan, I'm glad you found the tourist info provided at my apartment on St Kilda and Melbourne helpful. As per the listing, there is unlimited WIFI internet usage for web browsing and emails available for your entire stay. I am curious to hear that at the time of your stay you were unhappy with the internet - the Vodafone connection has always been reliable. As per listing and confirmed at check-in, I would prefer guests use the local internet cafes (of which there are many) to perform large downloading tasks..

I had an awesome stay at Marks and couldn't have gotten luckier. He is a FANTASTIC host, so easy to get along with and talk to and leaves you to do your thing if need be. I was a female traveling alone so if you are looking for somewhere safe to stay with someone who will feel like your big brother, than Mark is your guy. He knows the city well and had so many tips of where to go and tried to help me find places that he thought would suit me. You will honestly be so comfortable in his place and it will feel like your own. I met his girlfriend as well who was also as super as him and she gave me some tips too. The place is right near a major tram stop that takes about 15 min to the city. St. Kilda itself has lots going on too though and you may find yourself liking it more than the downtown core of Melbourne. I really really recommend staying at Mark's just because of how comfortable you'll feel which I think is extremely important when visiting a foreign place. You'll feel like your visiting a friend, not a stranger. :)

Mark was an absolute genuine guy, from the first message to walking out the door 4 days later he made me feel welcome and comfortable in a new city. Mark was able to give me directions and help me with the site seeing in Melbourne. He was by far the best person I have stayed with through AirBnB, clean and well maintained apartment. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who is looking for a place to stay close to the heart of Melbourne. St Kilda is located just outside the CBD with Chapel street within walking distance for all your cafe needs (coffee and food) and bars for a fun weekend away! Uber eats is also a major bonus of staying in St Kilda. It was a pleasure to stay with Mark and I hope many more people can enjoy a stay with mark! I will certainly be back in the near future.

Mark is a fantastic host who has a lovely space in the quieter end of a vibrant and welcoming area. I'd highly recommend his well equipped, clean and comfortable home for your next trip! Mark was very welcoming from the first to last day, and made it clear upfront that he's happy to field questions and provide his plentiful local knowledge. His unit is very well kept, both clean and tidy, and tastefully furnished. The city is around 20 minutes away on a couple of tram routes, both of which are literally at the end of the street, so it's convenient for tourists and business travellers. There are also local amenities within a short walk to Acland or Fitzroy Streets, which both play host to a number of shops and bars/restaurants, and make for a very lively area. The property is in a complex, so is secure and is a ground floor property so no heavy cases to carry up stairs (though there are a couple of small stairs into the complex, so not wheelchair friendly). Additionally, there is free Internet, which is an obvious appeal to most people these days! Overall, a wonderful place to stay, and a welcoming and friendly experience. I'd happily stay again, and highly recommend Mark's property to you.

I have an extensive knowledge of many of the key sights and highlights that make this city so great, including the Australian Open Tennis. I am more than happy to help/guide or offer suggestions regarding Melbourne's attractions.

I have lived in many parts of Australia and London was home for 11 yrs. From there I travelled to many corners of the globe and it is certainly something I reflect on often when chatting to other travellers and swapping stories. Living by the water in St Killda and being able to access such a varied eclectic community has allowed me to settle back into Australia smoothly after a very busy life in London. From home I can easily (within a 5 minute radius) exercise, bike, walk, run, sun bake, swim in the bay, picnic in the park, dine and socialise (not all at once tho !)...You name it, Melbourne has it .....and I love it!
