Where you’ll be

Haarlem, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

My house is located in a nice neighborhood at the green border of the town. At the backside along a canal there is a path for walking in the park area and cycling around Haarlem, through the nice dunes to the coast or even to Amsterdam. Nearby are canoe rental and a recreation lake for swimming.
In the neighborhood are a shopping centre with supermarket, post office, ATM, wine shop, hair salon, etc.
At the backside of the little station Haarlem-Spaarnwoude there is a big IKEA where you also can eat inexpensive. Also in the pancake house in the park you can eat inexpensive.
The old Haarlem town centre is very nice, with small shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, squares, canals and old streets and alleys. Also some museums and churches. Although Amsterdam is a must see and nearby, its center is very crowded. Many guests prefer historic Haarlem which is only 15 minutes by car, bus (line 2) or cycling.
Other touristic high lights are the windmils in Zaanse Schans and in spring the bulb fields and the Keukenhof.
