The apartment is spacious and in an ideal location of Lausanne -- steps from the M2 metro, and about 5 minute walk from the lake. Djamel was very helpful and responsive during my month-long stay. I would definitely rent the apartment again during my next visit.

Very clean, great location - 10 mins from lake walking, 10 mins from main line station walking, 1 min from metro and buses. Supermarket 10 min walk away. Spot on communication.

What a disappointment. Djamel's flat feels very run-down: the sofa was covered in claw marks, the wallpaper was peeling or damaged throughout, the front door was covered in deep gouges. Worse, the bathroom sink was clogged and smelly, and would start backing up after maybe 5 or …

Dear Chad, I have to admit that I've been quite surprised by your comments and point of view. Let me start by saying that I really try to do my best to provide a pleasant experience to my guests and that I’am and will continue to be attentive to the issues my guests may encounter. I am also aware that, by definition, a point of view is subjective and so please just consider my response to your comment as a personal way to consider those matters. So let’s start and allow me to comment your reviews one point after the other… -It’s true that the sofa suffers a few marks of claws. I got it from my sister and I have to say that the aesthetic/functional ratio is totally fine for me and apparently for all of the previous guests, as I never had any comments. -The flat has been totally repainted a few months ago and I really didn’t noticed that wallpaper where peeling. The moisture of the fresh painting might have caused this. Of course I will check that issue. -Regarding the clogged sink, I did my best before you arrived with 2 applications of a chemical product to unblock the pipe, but it hasn’t been enough and I had to call a plumber to disassemble the pipe after you left. When you wrote me about that issue I answered within an hour: « For the sink I am really sorry for the inconvenience, i asked the cleaning lady to put some chemicals to try to unblock it but it's apparently not enough and I will have to take the pipes to pieces when I'll be back. Sorry again. » -FYI not a lot of people have fan in Switzerland as we rarely have such hot days and nights like we had recently. Your stay coincided with a strong and rare heatwave, I fell like I couldn’t do much about it. When you wrote me about that issue I answered within an hour with advices and not with a “yeah, sorry, whatever”: « Unfortunately there's no fan in the flat and i'am currently south of France. Anyway, I would suggest to open all windows in the morning and then close all windows and shutters during the day to maintain some freshness. That's how I proceed in summer ». As you know I was abroad during your stay and so I couldn’t act right away, but I have answered quickly to all your messages and questions, that frankly didn’t sound to me as serious as they sound in your review. -I also have a little one year old boy and I know what it is to be constantly on the look-out for danger. You mentioned in your private message your worries about lead in the paint « a concern for someone with a small child, given the possibility of lead paint in older buildings ». I have to reassure you, the lead is no longer used in paint since the 40’s in Switzerland and even if there’s brittle, the woodwork in my flat got some new painting in the meantime, don’t worry ;) -Finally the balconies size, I wrote in the description of the flat that the balconies where small. My bad, English is not my maternal tongue and I didn’t find any other terms for it…if you have one do not hesitate. BTW I add the surface of about 1sqm in the description. I hope my feed back has been useful. I feel sorry for the disappointment you felt and will of course work on your comments. All the best, Djamel
