Completely renovated in 2016, this 100 year old Cajun Cypress house is located on the Intracoastal Waterway in historic downtown Houma. Walking distance to the park/marina and restaurants and just an easy, 1 hour drive to New Orleans. Enjoy sitting on the back porch or deck overlooking the water while watching the many different types of boat traffic go by or 'chill' at your own private bar! The views are awesome! If you want an idea of how Louisiana must have been in years gone by, this is it!

The space
This is a true Cajun cottage! Its original home was across the canal and was moved here in 2016. A cozy home with a quaint kitchen and a gorgeous view of the water! It has a porch to gaze out at the water, a deck to sit over the water and a place to tie up your boat. There is an actual bar with the look and feel of the tropics. There is no better way to experience the laid back feel of Louisiana!

Quiet friendly neighborhood. Ms Maudrey runs the B&B next door and across the street and next door. She speaks fluent French and is a wonderful person and a great cook! Say hello if you see her or her daughter Vickie!!!

We are Rod & Lisa, and we love renovating old houses and old things! We have renovated 2 homes built 1935, a 1916 home, this 1916 Cajun Cottage, and 2 homes built in the 1950's. Plus we restored a 1957 Yellowstone Camper and turned a 1994 school bus into an RV that looked like the inside of a home! This cottage still has the 1956 International Harvester Fridge that the grandmother used! We now live in a converted 1928 General Store that we renovated into our home!!
