I work with entrepreneurs and love their energy and passion. It is my home which I live in, a second story unit, a quiet location 10-15 minutes walk from the city shopping centre, 25 mins to the wharf, or a 1/3 the time on the 2 hire push bikes. Plants inside & on the balcony, and tropical trees to look over, checking the birds out. It is your home away from home, relax and prepare for your tropical adventure. If you need to work privately there is an optional small mobile bedroom desk.

The space
The bedroom has a king-sized bed and its own bathroom. It has a fan, air conditioning unit, plenty of cupboard/hanging space, suitcase racks and floor to ceiling mirror. Towels, sheets, beach towels (in laundry), hair dryer, shampoo etc. is all included.

Hi, intrepid traveller on an amazing adventure, which is about to get even better. To introduce myself I have a business marketing fabric structures, steel framed buildings with a tension membrane fabric skin to the mining, aviation, marine and agricultural industries. I also work in the voluntary position of Pitch Master for the local business incubator, theSPACE helping entrepreneurs to become amazing communicators and help them out with their young innovator's program teaching school kids how to be entrepreneurs. I coach the speakers for the annual JCU TEDx talks and I run one day Professional Communication workshops around the country. The decoration in the unit reflects some of my travels, butterfly wing paintings from Dakar in Senegal, the crocodile a gift from Maprik in Papua New Guinea together with other PNG artefacts. The sideboard and coffee tables are made from North Queensland tropical timbers. The hen was picked up from one of the many local markets. If you are looking for something different search the web for Cairns and Tablelands community markets. Port Douglas has a very big market on Sundays and the drive is breathtaking going up the coast early in the morning. One of the must do's if you have a car and are free on a Sunday. The paintings are all by local artists, you can find the artist's cooperative gallery in the DFO shopping center 274 Mulgrave Road. You will find their prices are extremely reasonable and they have some amazing paintings. If you are staying including Friday to Sunday make sure you visit Rusty's Markets, 57 Grafton St in the city. The range of fruit and vegies is to die for, and a fraction of the supermarket prices, they open at 6am and close at 3pm. If you want to meet the locals I suggest you search the web for Toastmasters Cairns. There are five clubs meeting on Wednesday or Thursday evenings and Tuesday morning every second week, plus a weekly Friday Lunchtime one and their is Entrepreneurs Networking and communication coaching every Tuesday 12:30 to 1:30pm at theSPACE and on Zoom. They are a positive bunch interested in self-development and love having guests to create a different audience and to network with. Soak up the tropical environment, it is something that grows on you and you can really get to love the laid back way of life. Get ready to have a great time in our little corner of paradise. Cheers David
