Earthen trees designs wrap around the hut making it feel as though it were being embraced by the woods, while the sun lights filtering through the stained glass window enhances this spaces fairy-tale feel.

We invite you to partake in the spiritual life of The Temple of Isis, by joining us for our daily noon rites or by meditating at our shrine

The space
You are welcome to partake in the spiritual life of The Temple of Isis, home of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, by joining us for daily noon rites or by simply meditating at any of the numerous shrines and altars at our beautiful sanctuary. The Temple of Isis is the largest and oldest interfaith sanctuary dedicated to the Sacred Feminine in North America. We believe that all genuine offerings of the human heart are accepted by the Divine. Our sanctuary is the oldest modern spiritual community outside the California Missions.

It was established in 1880 as the north american center from the Baha'i faith, they left in 1974. From 1974 - 1976 this site was the home of the only Cannabis commune in the USA, founded and led by Dennis Peron, Godfather of the Medical Cannabis movement. From 1976, Our temple was founded by well known beatnik and enamel artist Loreon Vigne as a sanctuary for all souls. During our time here, we have played host to artists like Andy Warhol, The Velvet Underground and the Grateful Dead. Today we operate as a wildlife sanctuary and a transitional housing program to help all souls in need.

Isis Oasis Sanctuary is an exceptional place to stay if you are visiting wine country and looking for a singular spiritual experience. Our glamping huts offer a unique approach to lodging that you won't find anywhere else!

Crafted by sculptor Miguel Elliott of Living Earth Structures, these small standalone structures are built with natural self-insulating materials and inspired by magical fantasy stories that are well known and loved by many.

They live tucked into an intimate corner of our wooded campground, with a small picnic area and bamboo privacy screens. Bathrooms and rustic outdoor showers are just a few meters down. Perfect for those who want a remote camping feel, but with some added creature comforts!

Free Wi-Fi and a coffee and tea bar are available for all guests to use in our spacious dining pavilion. A small library, collections of puzzles and games, and a gas fireplace provide a cozy setting in which to relax and unwind.

Visit our community garden, or request an animal tour to see our menagerie of exotic rescued cats, birds, and reptiles! We are a licensed 501(c) non-profit and any tax-deductible donations go towards the care and upkeep of our animals and grounds.

Whether you are coming alone or with company, you will find Isis Oasis a refreshing departure from the traditional hotel or motel.

**NOTE: If you're coming as a group, multiple spaces can be rented out simultaneously and some buildings can be rented in their entirety for larger parties. Ask about our catering options! Please note that if other huts or campground areas are rented, you will be sharing the facilities/amenities with other guests. We do offer a number of other rental options on property if you prefer more privacy. See our full listing options by typing 'Isis Oasis Sanctuary' in your AirBNB search bar.**

I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, she used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
