I have been running Bowers Hill Farm since I was first pregnant with our only son Bertie ie 18 years! We started in 1998! Previously I had worked in London for 12 and Dubai for 3 years but I met the 'boy next door' who was a farmer and he wasn't going to move to London! So eventually I gave up my corporate life and settled back into the peace and quiet of deep rural Worcestershire. I grew up in this area so it was not a problem to return. My No 1 passion is TB horses and horse-racing; point to pointing predominantly. My husband and I have trained horses together for many years and have had our successes along the line. It can be hard juggling all the things that runnning a business from home demands, a teenage boy and training horses but we love it and it keeps us physically and mentally fit!
I am supposed to write here about all the things I can't live without but to be honest, life is full-on and we don't have many 'down-times'. I can't live without a comfy bed and my horses I guess but I have lots of friends all over the UK and the world who I don't get to see or talk to nearly enough! I do love visiting them or having them to stay but as I said it is not nearly often enough!
I love having people to stay from all over the world and I love hearing all the stories that so many of you bring about the area you live in or the areas you have visited! Its fascinating and I learn so much about peoples' cultures and the idosyncrancies that tend to be associated with people from all corners of the globe! I have visited quite a few places that I wouldn't have even known about if you hadn't have shared them when you visited Bowers Hill Farm!
I like to please and am delighted when you genuinely have had a good time staying with us and learning about all the lovely things that we have right on our doorstep here in the Cotswolds. I also respect your privacy. If you don't feel like talking, that's fine too! And sometimes, when I have an 'off-day' I don't feel that chatty either!
