The space

This house was for Shizuko's children and grandchildren.
Every year, her children and grandchildren gather for the year-end and new year and summer vacation.
Shizuko is my neighborhood friend.
On this occasion, she opened the house for guests all over the world so that they can have a local experience.

Guest access

Two-storied wooden traditional Japanese-style house with width of about 55 sqm(1F27.5 sqm, 2F27.5 sqm) with traditional Japanese wooden fittings and furniture. We have 6 sets of bedding available. Interaction with guests

We will support you from the time you check-in. Shizuko lives with her daughter and granddaughter in the main house at the back. I am living in Tokyo and working, so if you have questions about not just only about the building or management, but also about other things, please send me message from “Q & A.” If you wish, I will recommend nice stores, restaurants and sightseeing area. Please ask us when you need some help.

Plenty of space for our family of 5. We lived there comfortably for 2 weeks. We all slept upstairs. We ate and relaxed downstairs. There are extra mattresses and bedding inside the cupboards so you can add extra to your beds if you want. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was great and essential for the hot weather in Aug. When you use the washing machine be sure to put the hose into the shower area to drain it. The house is central to most of the tourist sites. We mainly took the subway. Weak WiFi so we eventually went out and bought our own portable one. The grandma is very sweet and communicates with gestures. She lives next door so we could go over for help at almost anytime. Kota speaks english well, is easy to reach and quick to reply.

This was my first time staying in BnB . I'm so lucky to met Kota and Grandma Shisuko as my first host. Kota answered my all questions quickly and waiting for us outside the lane when we arrived. Both of them gave us a warm welcome! On the last day , Grandma even took us from home to train station. We didn't understand Japaness but she tried her best to send us to station safely. She remembered our flight schedule and worried that we will miss our bus . She is 85 !! The home location is great . Easy to everywhere and has two convenient stories and one supermarket around. The house is a history. Its a great life experience to stay in a traditional Japaness house . My mom , my sister and my kids are super excited! I have to say , if you want to stay in BnB in Tokyo , Grandma 's house is a top choice!

The house was very nice and traditional, many essential equipments are prepared such as lint rollers, powdered creamer, coffee and much more. The neighbourhood was also very friendly as the locals helped us to find our way.

It was an extraordinary experience for those who wish to investigate Japanese culture. It was an old house which is interesting and appealing. The facility is yet clean and well prepared. Very suitable for big family to stay as it was spacious.

We stayed 13 nights in the annex, and enjoyed every moment. Kota and Shizuko met us as we arrived, and Kota had provided a useful map over the area, which came in handy. The house is wonderful with traditional interior, and you sleep on mats on the floor. Most of us were comfortable, but you can try stacking two on top if it's a little thin. It's about 10 mins from both uguisudani and minowa metro stops. The neighbourhood is beautiful and quiet so we enjoyed walking to and from the stop. I highly recommend Kota as a host and this house for a longer stay.

The house was a little far for walking to a metro station (about 10-15 minutes), but it was very close to a bus station. If coming/going with a lot of luggage, I would heavily recommend using the bus and following Kota's directions. Both Kota and Shizuko were extremely helpful. Kota was very quick to reply to messages, and Shizuko met us when we arrived and offered to take us around the neighborhood the next morning to show us some useful places. The bedrooms and shower room in the house itself were spacious and the futon beds were already set out for us when we arrived. Be forewarned, however, the 2 bathrooms are very small (toilet only) and the only sinks are the ones that are part of the kitchens (both up and downstairs), so there's not much counter space. Our only complaint is that the place could be better cleaned. The dishes and linens were a bit dusty, and we did see a couple bugs in the house. Overall, though, the house was very convenient and Kota and Shizuko were so helpful to us!
