Relaxing retreat in the heart of the West Chester borough. The room has a completely private entrance and a full bath. The space features a luxurious queen size bed and cozy enclosed porch. Come stay with us and you will understand why West Chester is one of Pennsylvania's best kept secrets!

The space
Affectionately called the Berry Patch Inn, this beautiful space is tucked away in one of West Chester’s historic late 19th century brick-lined neighborhoods just steps from the downtown. This charming home was built in 1905 by a local physician. Your space has a private entrance and porch, facing a lovely garden. Drink a glass of wine or a cup of coffee on your quaint three season enclosed porch that looks onto a sweet garden. While the room is connected to the rest of the house by an original 19th century door, it remains locked, giving you constant privacy. The space has been remodeled (with lots of love), including a new shower and hardwood floor. The bathroom features a rain showerhead, a repurposed antique mirror and the slab marble tiles are something special – you won’t want to leave! The Berry Patch BNB has a gorgeous plush queen size Simmons Beauty Sleep medium firm mattress, high thread count cotton linens, extra pillows, organic towels and high speed internet. Enjoy a light Mexican theme – inspired by my annual work in Mexico teaching yoga and meditation retreats.

Where you’ll be

West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States

At the heart of Chester County, the Borough of West Chester is the gateway for a robust palette of activities for everyone. A short stroll brings you to historic West Chester, where you will find a wonderful assortment of charming shops and art galleries. You’ll find restaurants to meet your tastes - whether traditional, eclectic, casual or elegant. We are only a few blocks from West Chester University known for its outstanding music school, among other departments.
For food lovers, while you needn’t leave West Chester for eclectic or unique dining, you may want to explore other Chester County culinary opportunities. These include the Chadds Ford Winery, Marshallton’s Four Dogs Tavern, and the Dilworthtown Inn. During Covid, the West Chester borough has closed the main street to cars in order to allow for outdoor dining and greater social distancing. From our house, you can walk into the borough and dine outside. West Chester has a weekly farmers market on Saturday mornings and boasts an all locally grown and home made farm to table restaurant named Roots Cafe.
For garden and nature lovers, we are a short drive to the magnificent Longwood Gardens, the smaller but nonetheless beautiful Chanticleer Garden, Winterthur’s gardens and several regionally acclaimed arboretums. Northbrook Canoe Company offers kayaking, canoeing and tubing along the Brandywine River. Cyclists can find many options around greater the Philadelphia area through the Circuit Trails (URL HIDDEN) Hike or bike in our many beautiful local and state parks: Ridley Creek, Marsh Creek, White Clay Creek and Brandywine Creek State Parks.
For history buffs, the West Chester boasts over 16 buildings on the historic register, with Chester County as a whole listing over 110 buildings. Enjoy the Chester County Historical Society, nearby battlefields of Brandywine and the winter home of George Washington at Valley Forge. View the stunning collection of American furniture and artifacts at the Winterthur Museum and Library. The Dupont’s historic homes in Delaware are also worth visiting: Nemours Mansion and Garden and the Hagley Museum and Garden. The area also features many antique shops, if you wish to bring some history home!
For art lovers, enjoy West Chester’s galleries and visit the Brandywine River Museum of Art’s outstanding collection of three generations of the Wyeth family. Discover the Wharton Esherick Museum and marvel at the work of “the Dean of American Craftsmen.” Of course, other world class museums are less than an hour away in Philadelphia (The Barnes Foundation, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Rodin Museum and more) and Wilmington (the Delaware Art Museum).
