Cottage backs onto Crown forest/wetland. 5-minute walk to Kahshe Lake. 'Hot tub' selected in lieu of 'sauna' as an option.

The space
The cottage has been completely renovated, with new hardwood floors, oversized windows, updated kitchen, bath and laundry facilities. We've furnished it with stylish, clean mid-century furniture.

New 6 person cedar barrel electric sauna (Note - listed 'hot tub' as an amenity - aka the sauna). The cottage has forced air heating for a warm floor feeling. There is also a wood burning stove with plenty of wood on site.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 in the A-frame bunkie. 1 bedroom has a queen bed, 2nd bedroom with Queen , and the bunkie has a full bed.

The front bedroom with the Queen bed has a lot of windows, so you can keep the blinds up & feel like you are sleeping outside with the dark northern sky overhead. This room is especially cozy, as it's right around the corner from the wood stove.

The rear main bedroom has a Queen bed and one large window. The 2 bedrooms are on opposite sides of the cabin providing excellent privacy.

The A-frame bunkie is everyone's fav. It's about 60 feet from the cabin and is heated for winter. It features a Full bed, 16' ceilings, lots of windows & is completely private for additional guests with a large deck.

We have high-speed Wi-Fi and a TV with Apple tv, Netflix, Crackle and YouTube. Stream music with G-Nest mini.

The outside space includes a new Muskoka room attached to the cabin, so you have the option of being outside without swatting for mosquitos & a great place to set up your laptop :) The bunkie deck is elevated and almost always sunny. The property is very well treed, and still gets a lot of sun in the clearing.

There is a large pile of softwood at the rear of the property meant for outdoor burning in the fire pit - you're welcome to use it for a large outdoor fire at any time of year. We love winter fires out there.

The cabin is a five minute walk from the public pier and boat launch (free). You're welcome to bring a couple chairs up there an relax by the water, jump in for a swim, or launch our canoe or kayaks. You can also bring your own boat if you'd like.

A 5 minute drive (10 minute bike ride) brings you to a large, beautiful public beach. There's parking and two floating docks there for your use. It's sandy out as far as you can touch your toes. There is both sun and shade at the beach.

We are just off of Kahshe Lake, which is the 4th largest in Muskoka. It's full of islands to explore, generally shallow, and is great for fishing. We encourage you take the canoe/kayaks out to an uninhabited island for a day if you're feeling adventurous with a picnic! If you plan to go boating, please note there are many hidden rock formations underwater in one section of the lake, so it's best to consult a nautical map before heading out.

Winter is a beautiful time at the cottage. The street is very long and has a dead-end which is perfect for snow shoeing or cross-country skiing. There are also many nearby trails to use, with all information provided upon arrival in your Welcome Book. We've also got two pairs of snowshoes you can use.

Guest access
Relax & unwind with the cottage, bunkie, sauna and Crown land to explore. There is electronic keyless entry for easy in-and-out at any time of arrival or departure.

Other things to note
We provide bed linens, towels and kitchen gadgets (pots and pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc.). The kitchen could cook a Christmas dinner, so you won't likely need anything we don't have. Please bring your own towels/blankets for the beach if you're local (we'll accommodate for international visitors).

We have a lightweight canoe and two new kayaks with the necessary accessories for your use as well as Apple TV.

You're welcome to bring your boat or snowmobile - the long, pull through driveway makes it easy.

Neighbourhood highlights

Gravenhurst is a great place to vacation! Our cottage is only 1.5 hours from downtown Toronto, accessible right off hwy 11 (about a 3 min drive) and only 1 hour from Algonquin Park if you want to hit some trails.

Our street is a dead-end, so it's quiet. You can access both the pier and the public beach without having to go to the highway, so it's very peaceful to walk or ride your bike.

The Town of Gravenhurst declares itself the "Gateway to the Muskoka Lakes" and is the home port of the RMS Segwun, the oldest vessel powered by a working steam engine in North America. There is a beautiful boardwalk area in Gravenhurst with many nice shops and restaurants as well.
