The place is simply huge! A nice interior garden, 4 bedrooms (2 with a mezzanine and a second bed) and a really authentic feel. It's in the Medina but a bit out of the way so you have access to everything but its still cozy and relaxing. The house is several hundreds of year old but it has been renovated and is very clean (including the beds sheets and traditionnal Moroccan blankets). My only down point is more of a general warning about being a tourist in fes, no matter who gives you advices, make sure you double check and make informed decisions before buying or choosing a restaurant. My family and I would rent this again anytime.

Nice size, location and layout. Felt like we were staying in a castle. Riad does need some owner attention.

Dar Aladdin is like a castle with large wooden doors, very high ceilings and a medieval character. The home is very spacious and comfortable with large bedrooms, three bathrooms and a nice dining area. The home is built on three stories and has many narrow and uneven stairs which could be a challenge for some. Mme Latifah is a very kind and caring host who met us promptly and was available when we called on the phone. She is also an excellent cook and prepared two suppers for us during our stay (this was extra of course but very reasonable and delicious). The location is a bit removed from the main routes through the medina. Even though Mme Latifah met us as the parking lot, this was a bit troubling when we arrived after dark and were walking down very small alleys. Also, there is a shop next door that made a grinding noise and vibration through much of the house- this lasted until 11pm one night. The bathrooms could use a thorough cleaning to remove the smell of mould in the air. The house does not have much air circulation which makes the air smell stale. The kitchen dishes looked clean but felt a bit greasy. Guests should be aware of the "unofficial/imposter house guides". We had Mohamed who followed/joined our group from the parking lot to the house. He presented himself as the house guide, that is was not safe to go out without him and that we should hire him for 400 dirhams (40 euros) for 4 hours. When this happened my whole family was unsettled and scared. This did not make for a good first impression. The next morning at breakfast, Mme Latifah was able to reassure us that we were safe. However, we can speak French and so we could talk things through with her. If while walking with Mme Latifah to the Dar you are joined by Mohamed or one of the other guides we suggest you be firm but polite and let him know you don't need them. The Medina is safe but like much of Morocco you need to be aware of your belongings and surroundings. As long as Mme Latifah is the hostess we would go back to Dar Aladdin which we found to be of good value with wonderful medieval character.

Very nice place tucked away in the MedinA. The place itself is stunning. But with no wifi and not necessarily being able to go out at night do to the location kind of hindered our experience. Otherwise an absolute gem of a ppace. One of the coolest places I've stayed.
